Match preview;
This Good Friday we welcome Watford to HQ. Watford will be desperate for all three points, as they sit 9th, so relatively close to the playoffs, but there is a 7 point gap separating them from 6th placed Southampton. An impressive final seven games of the season could see them push for a playoff spot, but that seems unlikely. They've won two, lost one and drawn two in their last five, and their top scorer is Luca Kjerrumgaard, who has 9 goals so far this season.
As for us, in terms of any ambition for this year, it is dead for me, and from the activity on this board, it seems many have lost interest and enthusiasm. That said, last time out, against Portsmouth, was a very enjoyable watch, as we seemed to step up a level, played very well, and actually deserved the 6-1 score line. That gives me some hope that Stefan is building a team that could achieve something next season...but I feel I've said that before, so not getting my hopes up! Our top scorer is still Rumarn Burrell, despite his lengthy injury...with 10 goals, although Richard Kone is now only one behind with 9 to his name. I know we aren't going to achieve anything this year, but finishing the season with a good run of wins would be great, and maybe help us carry a positive ambience into the summer, and into next season. A loss on Friday, and I'm sure my current positive standpoint will soon disappear!
Injury update in post below.
Team news and manager comments to go up asap, enjoy if you are making it to HQ, and as always...
...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
