I like that lineup. I hope Dozzell puts in a strong performance like he did against Man Utd in preseason. He can make a real impact today and learn a thing or two from Stefan.
For me it is a surprising team formation.
Dykes is either injured or is being fully rested? The Wallace absence was expected.
What is the formation?
If we will have three centre backs, then who will be the LWB?
Could this be a 4-2-3-1 formation?
I need to ponder in this!
Surely a back 4. I have my reservations about Thomas, i think hes not up to this standard, infact i dont think hes anywhere near it, i really hope he can prove me wrong. He makes those kinds of runs for the ball where you just know your not going to get it. Not even taking a player with him. Anyway, think this is actually our toughest game yet, come on you R's
It is the obvious conclusion, but to date, I gave not classified Thomas as a potential LWB.
A 4-2-3-1 formation is a good idea again Barnsley’s style of play last season. This season under the new manager they still do a high press, but apparently they try to play it out from the back.
Very interesting and rather surprising.
I think that the Barnsley coaches are also wondering what MW is up to!

Unless Kakay is playing CB, with Thomas and Barbet as wing backs, which surely is too much of a stretch.
I agree on Thomas. Presumably he'll be part of a three behind Austin.

One would presume that dunne would start with kakay and barbet as the wing backs. Must be a flat back 4 and i understand Warburtons reasoning for that. Barnsley tend to play a very direct tactic which can easily catch a back 3 out, whereas a back 4 is closer knit with no space either side.
