Match Preview;
Barnsley have started the season with a win, a draw and a loss. Frieser and Sibbick have scored their only two goals so far this year, and they find themselves 13th in the division. They had a change of manager over the summer as Valerien Ismael left for West Brom, and Marcus Schopp taking over. Schopp played his football in Austria, Germany and Italy, with a brief loan spell in New York. Since retirement from playing in 2007 he's only managed in Austria, until his appointment as Barnsley manager. He's developed a reputation for developing younger players, which sounds great given he probably won't have a massive budget at Barnsley...after this game I wish them all the best (until they play us again).

As for us, 2 wins and 1 draw sees us sitting 3rd, having scored 7 in our first 3 league games. Given that we are the early kick off, a win will see us top of the league, albeit for a few hours. All looking good so far. After our win on Wednesday against Boro, I was worried we'd be reading about Austin being banned, but there has been no news so far.

I'll add team news and manager comments when they are on the official. Enjoy those who'll make it, and as always... COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPS!!!

One thing is that Austin will NOT be banned retrospectively as the ref has admitted that he saw the incident and decided that it was accidental although he did give a free kick to Boro. This is unlike his stamp at Forest last season which our old friend Keith Stroud said he didn't see despite being only a few yards away and looking straight at the incident.........the sun must have been very low to get in his eyes like that......but that allowed the EFL to ban Austin retrospectively........

Have to say Chaz was on very thin ice last night........

After all this excitement a boring 1-0 win will do nicely on Saturday........

With the red card and automtatic suspension of Odubajo we will have a different starting eleven for this match.

With the assumptions that Wallace and Dykes have knocks and are injured or will be rested, and that McCallum is now match-fit plus Austin is avialable, then I would choose the following starting eleven:

-------- ----------- DIENG ------------------

-----DICKIE ---- De WIJS ----- BARBET --

KAKAY--JOHANSSON--BALL--McCALLUM

--------- WILLOCK -----CHAIR -----------

----------------------- AUSTIN ------------------

Any thoughts or better ideas?

Looks good to me, would start with Dykes though if fit, as Austin looked like he had been eating to many kebabs in recent weeks

I thought Dykes would be fit for this match and Austin would be our main striker. But if Dykes is fit, then I agree that it makes sense to start with Dykes and to then bring Austin on in the 2nd half as fresh legs.

It’s only Barnsley, what could possibly go wrong……
Do you really want a list? It would be worth a sub-thread all on its own with all the things that could go wrong if we all took a vow to name just one from a whole host of banana skins. I'll start with one that is not so obvious. Wet leaves on the train line down from Barnsley. And one that is football related. The ref saw the game on Wednesday night and decides to exact retribution sending off Austin in the first 5 minutes.

I am expecting a tough game. Barnsley will be well set up for us.

I expect them to sit back, press hard and then to quickly break on the counter-attack. We always seem to rather struggle when we need to break down massed organised defences. Should we score, then then the dynamics of the game will change in our favour.

I am looking forward to the gameand really hope that we will win comforatably, but currently I believe that our style of play is more suited to away matches, than at home. I hope that the local home support will make the 12th man!
