Fernandes wealth increased by £200m this year, thats the stadium paid for on its own. Then theres Mittal who at last count was worth £26 billion. Building a new stadium to him is like building a £300 shed for us. Our owners have the disposable income and arent looking for any other money to do it.
We are also debt free so are in a fantastic position.

I think Park is a decent bit of business at £2 million, say what you like about him but I value not only Mark Hughes opinion but also SAF in higher regard than any off the cuff comment you can come up with.
As for Norwich signing Butterfield....... a 22 year old who had only just broken into a lower level championship team last season and who has not played since being injured in december 2011........ will he even get a start this year??
So lets compare Park with Butterfield........ I know where i'm laying my bet.
I agree with your team's values of building for the future with youth and a sensible wage structure but do you honestly believe that you can continue to survive in the PL consistently following that rule?

hoopy, though your point is valid it is also naive in the extreme. you've made the same mistake that many football fans make - judged a player on their name rather than what they are capable of. jacob butterfield is an england u21 international who has been likened to paul gascoigne by his fellow pros. two footed, shoots from anywhere, runs a game, creative, scores goals, captain at 21 years of age... we've bought a player who could well be worth £20m in two years time if we keep him moving in the right direction. you've bought a hard-working player, a player i like, but he is not a top player - he is ageing, he has never been a regular at his club and although he will be an improvement on what you already had, he is not an exciting player but will give you energy. who got the better deal? absolutely no question - its norwich

I think you've confused my comment, I do not mean to belittle the Butterfield signing, I applaud bringing in young Englishman that could one day represent their country, and correct me if i'm mistaken but I thought he got injured before playing for the U21? I have not fallen for the trap of just signing a name, I may have done that as a child when signing Mark Hateley
I am simply getting at the fact that I would rather take Park over Butterfield in the upcoming season, and let's be honest, just because someone is not a first team regular at Man Utd doesn't mean that at least 14 other PL clubs wouldn't be fighting for their signature.
You raise another point about the better deal, well it's something that we can both both claim for many different reasons but as with all things in life, only time will tell

igor, obviously its an interesting time now lambert has departed but we still have the same players which we are improving on. as replacements go, hughton was just about the best we could hope to get to come in - he assures a steady and smooth transition. i'd be far more worried if we'd appointed steve clarke, like west brom have, or even laudrup at swansea who is a slightly unknown factor in the premier league. great players (and boy was he great) do not always make great managers and his track record is good but not great. interesting times!

I think the signing has two angles tbh, one being the marketing potential of QPR in the Far East, I don't think it's a coincidence Park was announced just before our tour of the Far East.
I also think Park is a hard working player, and although I agree he won't be tearing up trees this year I think he is as a you say a had working player who will always do what is asked of him. That's all I expect when I watch players at my club, 100% commitment. I think Park fits that bill perfectly.
You keep comparing us to Portsmouth, but you might be better looking at City and Chelsea for your comparisons, similar wealth involved.
