What should be QPR's punishment

We've been proven guilty of nothing yet, so what is there to discuss? Lets wait until next Friday, then we'll all know what's happening. All this speculation is a complete waste of time.
 
i think they should go down to 1st div and only bottom 2 in div go down with them. whistling hands behind back looking at sky
 
In my opinion, QPR are so head and shoulders above the championship, that even if they did end up in the play offs, they'd win them.

I know teams that unexpectedly miss automatic promotion generally struggle, but that's usually as they've lost form.

The teams that end in the play offs this season are wildly inconsistent and have been all season, the only team to fear would be Reading, but even they managed to **** themselves last week against Sheffield United.

The powers that be in this country don't have the bollocks to deduct that many points, even though the rules were made black and white after the Tevez affair.

Not sure we would win the play offs. Our form isn't great at present, 3 consecutive draws. Also, any points deduction would be sure to have a psychological effect on the players.
 
If they were going to get a points deduction it would have had to be some time ago - you can't wait for the end of the season to do it.
 
They've been very naughty boys and should be punished accordingly.

Appoint Allardyce, that would certainly make an example of them and be a stern warning to anyone else.

A 15 points deduction and £5m fine would be like a slap on the wrist compared to that.
 
I Reckon QPR should be hit with a massive points deduction,It would be Karma for Colin W anker aka Neil Warnock,who demanded similar for West Ham.He will plead innocence and blame someone else as usual.I've nothing personal against QPR,I just can't stand Warnock.
 
Yeah it was,He's a snivveling rat-faced creep.He's got more of a rat-face than Gary Neville,and thats bad.
 
OK - but this is about a club not Colin. Points should be gained or lost through actions on the field -not office pen pushers. A fine is fine

What do the FA do when faced with an issue that presents a logistical problem?

They take the easiest and least disruptive route out and hope nobody notices how spineless they are.

This morning The Sun breathlessly reported that QPR were faced with a 15-point deduction over the ownership issues surrounding Alejandro Faurlin – we wonder whose phone they hacked to get that story? Anyway, the idea that the FA is going to stand-up to the kind of characters that have stakes in QPR – Ecclestone, Mittal etc – is a bit laughable. If you believe the dirty little tabloid, then the Championship playoffs face chaotic uncertainty, and a huge organisational nightmare to resolve.

Right, hands up who thinks that the FA are actually going to discipline one of the richest clubs in the country and face up to the months of appeals and fixture disruption that that will lead to?

Now, hands up who thinks that they’ll just fine QPR and hope that everybody kind of forgets about it?

Oh wait, they’ve got a source – an ‘FA Insider’ no less, sounds reliable:

‘There’s no question QPR have broken the rules. They know it as well. The only debate is what to do about it. If they aren’t found guilty you might as well scrap the rules about third-party owners.’

Next time you want to fabricate a source, maybe actually put something in it that reinforces your story. Just a thought.
 
Whatever happens the league should not have left it this late to deal with the matter. The outcome potentially has huge, some possibly negative, consequences for a number of teams.

If QPR are landed in the playoffs then you can bet the owner will seek an injunction to delay those playoffs pending a quick appeal. It would be difficult for the court to deny such delay given how many teams could be affected by the outcome either way. (What do you do if QPR are dumped into the playoffs, lose the games but win their appeal?)

So, does anyone know why this wasn't expedited for, say, a February hearing or earlier?
 
15 point deduction is fair. They broke the rules they should pay the price.

As for a fine. How is that fair? If it isn't means tested it is an unequal punishment. £1m would bankrupt most League 1 or 2 clubs but would be pocket change to Man City, Chelsea or QPR so it wouldn't be equal, nor would it act as a deterrent to the richer clubs.

And before everybody says what about West Ham. They were fined because they didn't give full disclosure about the ownership details but rules prohibiting third party ownership were not in place so they could not charge them with that. However, now the rule is in place and all league clubs know it, so QPR if found guilty should take it like a man.
