If QPR were going to get a points deduction, we'd know already, they wouldn't do it the day before the last game of the season.

They certainly seem to be guilty, so will get a severe slap on the wrist and probably a very hefty fine, but that will be it.

Personally, I think a far fairer punishment, would be hanging Paddy Kenny from a lamp-post by his dingly-danglies, but that's just me.....

The punishment should be a punishment.
West Ham hadn't got a pot to piss in,so the best punishment for them was a fine.It meant they had to re-adjust their transfer policy for the following season following the fine, they had to spend £5.5 million less, they probably only had less than £10 million to spend anyway.
QPR are rich,so a fine is no use.So I reckon the punishment should be a punishment,a points deduction is the only acceptable punishment.

    1. It wont effect us one bit for us to get play offs
    2. I gave up on play offs weeks ago, they is only 4 team going for 1 place (Forest, Millwall, Burnley and Leeds)

I'm sure that any punishment will be appealed, so realistically I would expect their promotion to go ahead unimpeded. If there were to be points deduction, I would expect it to be next season in the Premier League, almost certainly condemning them to relegation.

Having said that, I've not read the article about their 'crime' so am not in a position to vote as to what punishment I would deem to be fitting, if any.

There shouldn't be any meaningful points deduction. By that, although I believe they should incur one, it should not be one which completely rules them out of automatic promotion. Six points off would put them in the mix, where they can still fight for their chance without completely losing it altogether.

I'd like to win promotion on the pitch, not in the court room.

Where do you get this rubbish from???

Do you mean a club with some of the richest owners in the world, i.e.Mittal (20% investor of your club)? Because that is quite different From your statement, I think you will find you lag, drastically from a couple of your London colleagues, i.e. Arsenal, and Chelsea, and outside the home counties you have ManUre, Man Citeh, Liverpool, who are all owned by wealthy people/groups, and, these teams have been a tad more successful than little old DQPR.
Sorry to have pissed on your fireworks Northolt, but you are normally more astute with your posts on here!

Good luck to you, DQPR, and as you all say, take it up the R's!!!!

The idea of a punishment means that it should hurt the offender.A fine of £6 million wouldn't hurt Bernie Ecclestone. He's a multi millionaire. It did hurt West Ham,because they were broke.Thats why a fine is no use in this scenario, the only option is a points deduction.

Can a reasonable QPR fan tell me this guy is your resident idiot???

Mate, with this news you may not be in the same league as us next season!

You have been the best team in the championship this year but the prem is a different kettle of fish. You deserve to be promoted because you have a had a very good season but you might want to stop slagging off teams already in the prem before you know if you are promoted and if you keep your star players next season.

I agree that the fine wouldn't be suitable but cant agee with your conclusion.

Surely the punishment has to be pre-defined. It should be a straightforward point deduction given equally to any club that breaks the rules. Adjusting the penalty to fit the club is too arbitrary and would just add confusion and provide ammunition for people to compare the relevant punishments and judge one harsher than another.
A straightforward loss of points be it 15, 10, 5, whatever is the only fair and clear way to do this.

Although it's two different organisations in two different cases, consistency needs to be achieved between the West Ham case and this. They would happily take a hefty fine as they are financially secure/propped up well.

If it was down to me, I would just fine them the amount of prize money they get for winning the Championship. Talk of 15 points is just ludicrous.

There are so many compelling arguments on whether they should receive a points deduction or not - Both sides of the arguments make good points so I can't be persuaded either way by them - As such I will have to guess what is right - QPR should not be prevented from gaining promotion resultant from an administrative misdemeanour, nor should they be allowed to get away with it - So that leaves three options 1) a small points deduction that still leaves them in the auto spots 2) deduction next season 3) a fine - I think its accepted by most that the offence is worse than West Ham's so I would go with a 15 point deduction next seasons and let them fight for their Premier League status

I thought the days of other teams news appearing on our boards was beyond us.

Fair enough if it's important but I couldn't care less about this.

The football league cant deduct points for next season as they will be in a different league. With different rules and a different board running the league

so how about taking this **** away, no one gives a ****.

seems like qpr have one or two ****ers on this board, so see ya in the prem, maybe not next season though.

Points deductions hurts true fans - would any of you accept that if your owners did something wrong you might be given a points deduction - surely we don't like it for going into administration so for wronlgy playing players it is no different - hurt the owners if you must but not the fans
