According to a poster on another forum who has listened to Methven’s latest podcast, our CEO has set Nathan Jones a KPI around playing / starting xx number of Academy players in our games.

This is ridiculous if true.

Selection should always been made on form and merit, not on a strategy based on fattening the calf before taking it to market.

This BS from Methven does have a ring of truth to it though - TC, Anderson & Kanu have all been overplayed this season.
You'd not be surprised. Play the youngsters to showcase them and sell.

Excuse my ignorance but what's a KPI?
I remember Curbs saying he tried to keep quiet about talented youngsters coming through. I'd say TC and Andereson have earned their place, Kanu needs a loan, and it doesn't look like there's a way through for Zach Mitchell

What has happened to football.

The CEO ought to mind his own business.
Nathan Jones should be picking the team for each game based solely on his strategy for success - that being a top 6 place come May 2025.
Everything else is irrelevant.

Flogging academy players has got nothing to do with Nathan Jones' job.
If that's how we're being run, it's no better than when Chris Powell was getting emails telling him who to pick for next Saturday's game.

If someone like Methven, who’s knowledge of football and tactics could be written on the back of a postage stamp, told me who to pick. Firstly I would tell him to **** Off. if it persisted I would leave. We had that with the Belgian maniac and Chris Powell and it doesn’t work.

And can be taken as too much involvement from upstairs.

No surprise to see Mundell posting that it’s sensible, and he agrees with Methven’s strategy <laugh>

Mundell also urges GFP not to throw money at promotion :emoticon-0136-giggl

It’s almost as if we have tried to do it the cheap skate way for at least the last 5 years, and with such fantastic results.

Remember the brief obsession with signing employees & players from League Two Swindon Town ?

I recall certain forum wiseacres wetting themselves over that doomed plan as well.

I know Mundell reads 606, because in a previous incarnation on ITTV (one of very many…) he DM’d me, to say that he had read my criticism and I had got him wrong :emoticon-0133-wait:

It would be good for both of the bobble-hatted Bovril drinkers, Mundell & his West Stand sidekick Charles “the Crombie” Hawtrey, if they joined 606.

We could politely challenge them on their low energy lack of ambition for CAFC.

Squarka….Swiss Ramble….Xg….its just weird.

More chance of the shelf stacker having me back.

Also, Pinky and Perky know they would be absolutely slaughtered with their nonsense.

I would suggest we are being run like this. They need the money for ticking the club over in the long term. They borrowed so it’s not a billionaire bottomless pit imo. They must sell to stay afloat. Everything they say and do suggests this.
I’d like to hear from the owners and their opinions on this situation but we all know that’s not going to happen.
We deserve what we don’t object to.

Very odd indeed. Total sycophantic behaviour and completely ball-less. Fully grown mature men still falling for scams. <laugh><laugh>
