Reading went professional in 1895 - there was another which took this step in 1891. Not Fulham.Reading seems to be the first Proff team in the south I see... but fully professional I cant see..
How about Fulham... they are an oold club
Arsenal were the first in London, but there is a club in the south which went professional earlier Frenchie. Rather a surprising answer this one.Arsenal maybe.
All yours Yorkie. They were paying their players by 1890 and went fully professional in 1891 - there were a number of others, including Woolwich Arsenal, who went professional later in the year, but Luton were the first in the entire South of England. Much as it grieves me to admitLuton???
