Nope I would rather be a realist and think Morgan has been told something to keep him happy. Jay has wanted to leave ever since Pochettino buttered him up.

And yet all the written evidence is to the contrary: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...remier-League-season-under-Ronald-Koeman.html

What you're really doing is what a lot of people do. Hedging your bets and preparing for the worst outcome so that you aren't overly disappointed. I know, I do it as well on occasions. We call it being a realist, but all it really is, is settling oneself in a comfortable posture.

No one knows how well Jay will recover or how well he will play this season, so can't guess what will happen to him. Unless Morgan has a massive change of heart, I suspect we will sell him in the summer. It was important that we kept him this season, but we may be ready to move him on by then.

Way I see it as well Fran, we told Morgan to stay as it was important that the rot didn't get any deeper. Morgan staying stabled the ship.

We thought we'd miss Lallana. May not get a direct replacement or one as good as Morgan, but you get replacements in and with readjustment move on. We aren't a one man side...especially in midfield. Love Morgan to stay and perhaps we are so sensational this year, he will stay...but not the end of the world.

Or I just don't believe everything in the media or what players etc say. Look at what happened the summer gone, me and DTLW and a few others were saying for ages what was going on. Not many believed it including you until it happened. It is better to believe Jay hasn't changed his mind, why would he? Why would Morgan change his mind as well? Because of the fans? Nope not buying it.

I'm just going to enjoy it while they are here.

Not convinced we need Jay anymore. Morgan's another matter - he would be a huge miss.

He is still a very good player and will add more goals to our team ( if he returns like he was). But we seem to have more players scoring goals this season(yes it is still early I know).

Where do people see the bids coming from? There are only so many Champions League teams and most have rather full squads - especially in Jay's position. Perhaps he will go to Spurs but he plays in Lamela's position. And considering Lamela cost them around 30m and hasn't completely bombed yet (unlike Soldado) I imagine there will be pressure to play him

I am sure Morgan will only leave for a champions league club. I don't know if we have an agreement with him for what we would sell him for if one comes in for him but what I will note is that is was said we valued him HIGHER than Shaw and that was before his form so far this season (including addition of a few goals).

Not many clubs will be bidding 25-30m for a "defensive" central midfielder - and I can't see Arsene doing it as he would have done by now. Khedira was rumoured to be going for less this summer (World cup winner with stacks of champions league experience) and Arsenal still didn't sign him.

So unless we have said "bid of "X" million" and you can go, his options may well be limited

I agree that Clasie could be a good replacement on paper (only seen one game for him - world cup 3rd place). We were also linked with Onazi from Nigeria but he recently signed a contract extension

As for a Jay replacement I am not sure if Ings fits the bill as I don't think he can play the wide/support role. I can't hep but wonder if Mane orr Long is the replacement drafted in early. If not I wouldn't be surprised in Koeman looks to a moe traditional wide player rather than converting a striker (which is what happened with Jay)

When all the rumours of players leaving were starting to filter through at the end of last season my thought process was along the same lines as yours. I couldn't think of any team that would want Lallana as all of the usual suspects were pretty stacked in that position, but if a player is available then the big clubs will go for them. Rodriguez isn't good enough imo for one of the very top clubs, especially coming off the injury he has had. Schneiderlin is, so if teams know he is available then they will buy him and move someone else on. Personally I can see him enduing up at United if he stays in England and maybe PSG if he chooses to go abroad.

The one saving grace that may enable us to keep hold of some of the better players is if the players we sold last season continue to struggle, seeing as we wouldn't sell the players for nothing it will take a big financial commitment to get J-Rod/Morgan/Tadic and the other clubs might look at how **** Lallana and Lovren have been and stay clear.

i don't think jay will change his mind. he was brainwashed by pinocchio and he's been tapped up by hodgson. he thinks the world will end if he doesn't go to a big club.

schneiderlin i hesitate to say i wonder if he's got a bit more about him (obviously the tantrum and thinking he had a right to leave dented that view). Maybe it's not as urgent for him to leave if southampton get into europe. maybe it's not so urgent for him to leave if a legend of the game like koeman can get didier deschamps onside.

i'm not going to bet anything on it but i'm open to it. i'm skeptical that arsenal will pull out anything like acceptable money for a player they actually need. wenger has lost his mind. tottenham seem to have tightened the purse strings and i feel like that's the reason they wanted Pinocchio.

i feel comfortable at least that if we do get acceptable bids for schneiderlin, we'll bring in someone with talent and guts to replace him.

Or Lex Immers.
