I feel a bit sad with this outcome, but it was certainly true that Os had become a little bit of a parody of him/herself. The whole I might not be white and I am not male thing was really cringy.
The worst thing Os did was repulse me from certain arguments so strongly that I found myself rejecting even the logical things said. Anyway, I hope the rest of us can go back to debating in good faith and attempt to find some consensus.

100%. To me even if something’s he/she said has a small basis of truth I found myself taking the complete opposite view.
Take immigration for example. IMO there is an issue in this country with it and I say that as the son of two immigrants. However, not all the woes of the country is down to immigration as some make out.
I am also a child of two immigrants and so maybe we have a different perspective.
Firstly, is Os banned full stop off of the forum or just the politics board? Because it's harsh if it's a full ban. He's got some fair points about the team and club.
Secondly, does that now mean there's a vacancy for a right wing poster on the board? I can't go fully conspiracy theorist, and I can't even pretend that TR isn't a total **** but I can have a go at the other bits? I've got a twitter account and can bench press an elephant. I also think, if I worked at it, I could really really wind up @......loading......

Yeah. I was just looking back to see if everyone was at one another’s throats like this the first time Trump got in, and there was our Os talking about how scared the parallels with Nazi Germany were making him. It’s around page 258 or so and slightly before when Trump gets in. Lots of examples of a very different type of board back then! And a good example how a bit of boredom during Covid and some nefarious algorithms can work together to change someone.

Joking apart, you may be right, but I wouldn’t change mine for anything. Being brought up by an Italian mother and Indian father in Britain has given me such a rich heritage and insight into cultures and even religions. There have been tough times and outrages in my life but I am proud of who am I and what I represent.
It also means I have a second international interest in Football & Cricket…that has occasionally been better than my birth country and nationality!
To be fair there's some negatives there. I reckon an Indo-italian culinary fusion is something that even some mad **** on master chef wouldn't try*

This ruling is a new low and says more about you than Osvaldorama. Not only do you allow posters to break the rules with personal insults but join in too. Banning him because "he had ruined the level of debate" is a poor joke. There are more than one or two posters from the other camp that could be levied at but seem to escape sanction. If I have to read the level of debate that StJabbo and loading produce every single day then I'm sure you can all put up with Osvaldorama's efforts.
The level of debate is poor because you and others can't deal with conflicting, unpopular opinions. Despite what you and like minded posters may want the politics thread is not about a happy little clique looking for "consensus", it is (or should be) also about others having their say without being censored.
You all complain about him but you continually bait him into replying, even when he's not online. You talk about him constantly between yourselves, quite often with insults and piss takes. Nothing wrong with that but you can't then expect him to not reply, and in the same manner. And what he posts about is not up to you to decide.
In the last week alone, there have been 15 different posters who have made comments to Osvldorama or about him, a bit strange coming from those who want him ignored.
Banning him for his unpopular views is more childish than the pathetic boycott you tried a few weeks back.
