Meanwhile in the real world. The EU have lost their minds.
Writing to Elon Musk to try and censor his interview with Donald Trump.
Wtf are they thinking?
I think that is more the fault of the people that have seeminglay privatised sections of "national and international security systems." You would need to ask who made the decisions that ended up with the scenario in the first place....and I agree it is not a great situation to say the least.National and international security systems shouldn't be turned on or off at the whim of an egocentric bellend billionaire.

"Elon Musk is expected to host US presidential hopeful Donald Trump in a live-streamed conversation on his X platform later on Monday.
The EU’s internal market chief Thierry Breton has urged X owner Elon Musk to comply with legal obligations under the EU’s digital rulebook hours before the billionaire is expected to interview US Republican candidate Donald Trump live on his platform.
In the letter, published on X, Breton says that Musk has a “legal obligation” to ensure that “all proportionate and effective mitigation measures are put in place regarding the amplification of harmful content in connection with relevant events, including live streaming.”
Failure to put such measures in place could "increase the risk profile of X and generate detrimental effects on civic discourse and public security," Breton added."
I'm not. I have to say it a lot because I don't follow that narrow range of accepted viewpoints and it is a word that is an immediate go to for a lot of people these days. But at the end of the day there is only one person who needs to believe I am not racist and that is my wifeTotally valid concern and totally being sensationalised and hyped up on social media. Also a lot of total bullshit on social media, by people who either like stirring **** or think they are more intelligent than the rest of us who look to main stream media first.
Said it before, but my well being on here is enhanced by the ignore button as I spent no time listening to the **** that i don't want to. Note I said want to as it is 100% bullshit, not that I am burying my head in the sand. If you spend your time saying over and over and justifying "I am not a racist" or "I am not an right wing extremist", you probably are.
Private education is your choice. I choose not to subsidise it. There is plenty of state education available and private education is not a charity.
Most of the arguments (not the thug's angle) over race and everything else from "the left" are actually class based and not actually the chose subject they are fighting on. I tend to agree on most of this post however it should be taken into account just as others have said that if someone does private anything instead of state something they likely are now paying twice! They are paying in their taxes for their public education that they aren't using and same with healthcare.I object to the whole idea of private education. Middle class people already vastly outperfom the working class in state schools and in employment. People in private schools are live in closed bubbles and then go on to be state leaders who know nothing about our society.
This is the area I lean furthest left on. This class system in the UK is absolutely horrendous - and nowhere more apparent in the elitist of our top institutions:
Elitism in Britain, 2019 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Most don't. the majority of Student Loans will never be repaid. Even Martin Lewis admits this and every time it used to come up on Question Time would explain it.But University tuition fees are not (ignoring Scotland) two-tiered. Everyone either pays or everyone does not.
More people voted for Brexit than voted for labour.
So I think it’s fairly certain they do

I do take your point on the elitism close circle / bubble aspect which is something we align on. Its a hard one to find the compromise on when most of these people are actually "paying twice" per se and thus could already be deemed to contributing more. It isn;t an opt out where you get money off your tax for the bits you don't use.
The police have said the vast majority of people arrested have also previously been connected to football hooliganism. I don’t know why people want to pretend this isn’t a really unsavoury bunch! No, this is not about class. Anyone characterising violence, hate and aggression as somehow representative of working class values, insults generations of working people. This is about right wing thuggery, orchestrated and manipulated on social media. It’s about violent criminality from a cowardly few who feel strong when running with the herd, but melt away as bullies always do, when they are faced with the reality; that no one wants these hooligans running amok in their communities.
Were you complaining about two tier policing when offenders were receiving hefty sentences after the 2011 riots (When the the rioters were mostly black, and the public prosecutor was Keir Starmer)?
Musk announced he was suing the European Commission in July after the EU executive accused him of breaching the DSA through a lack of transparency in the so-called 'blue check' verification programme.Yes exactly.
On what authority are they threatening to remove free speech? Elon rightly told them to go and **** themselves
I don’t object to people wanting the best for their kids. I respect the hard work Billy has put into giving his kids that option. I do object to a nation where the elite don’t think the education system is good enough for their own kids and pay extra to isolate then from us scummy people. Most of the arguments (not the thug's angle) over race and everything else from "the left" are actually class based and not actually the chose subject they are fighting on. I don;t think I have said that in a single post. Lock them up. I'm with you both on that. The police have said the vast majority of people arrested have also previously been connected to football hooliganism. I don’t know why people want to pretend this isn’t a really unsavoury bunch!
