I suspect that the Mail and the Express will spend their time slagging off any/all of the candidates in the Tory election free-for-all (except, possibly, Nadine Dorries), and tell everyone that none of them are fit to clean the sleaze off Boris' shoes. The Express will then spend the next five years trotting out stories about what Boris would have done/thought, about anything, in the same way that Princess Di is still a major part of the Express' raison d'etre.
When the Tories lose the next election, both the Mail and the Express (and probably a lot of the other papers) will point the finger at the Tories, and say "This wouldn't have happened if Boris was still in charge"
