Unfortunately, he only broke 'guidelines' (that he put in) as the social distancing rules are not part of the COVID law. However, a do as I say not as I do isn't really the way to be an upstanding politician. But then again, upstanding politician is an oxymoron.

I think Boris has stood by him as he needs him as the '**** deflector' over the COVID response over the next few months. He can hang him out to dry then whilst protecting himself from the crap flying around. If Hancock goes now, Boris is first in line. Though he should be first in line as he is the 'Boss'

I totally agree that Boris will keep him at all costs as it takes the heat of him.
But we will have to see what feedback the local conservative MPs get from the voters, the general feeling I have seen is that people want him go.
The fact that people have stuck to the rules for the last 15 months or so and then ministers go and flaunt then is not on.
Plus Hancock was quite vocal last year about the sage professor(name escapes me) who had a affair, he said it was the right thing to do was resign.
But not now?

I am surprised that Javid has taken over the reins and I expected him to keep well away from Johnson so that he cannot be tainted in any future leadership bid. It will be quite interesting to see how Boris fairs when the enquiry into the pandemic issues it's findings although I have a feeling that any publication will be made once Johnson has served his tenure in office.

This business also demonstrates how useless Starmer is as the leader of the opposition. Hancock could have been held to account for any number of reasons since March 2020 but he ends up leaving due to pressure within his own party. I do not think that either Starmer or Johnson will be around to fight the next election campaign.

I know where you are coming from SLS but we should not be relying on a football result to see Johnson deflated. Better by far would be a victory in the Batley by-election for oñe of the opposition parties to take the wind out of his sails.

I would like to see that too but I have lost faith in the common decency of the British people many of whom seem quite OK with a lying charlatan and his equally corrupt chums running the country.

I'd question many but there are still a (thin) majority of decent British people who are punished by a corrupt system (might note that the Conservatives are ****ed beyond belief once the younger half of the population who have been savagely screwed by them become the dominant force).

However if you want a specific villain of this piece look no further than George Galloway who has parachuted himself in as a Tory savior to critically divide the vote and hand Boris a Labour seat.
