If they have pace but no ability I don't want them. We might as well sign Usain Bolt if all that was required is pace. Yes they have pace to get into positions, create space etc. but if they can't do anything when they have the ball then its pointless. It's favouring pace and strength over technical ability that means we're beind other elite nations.
Man, you're anal when it comes to spelling on a casual forum. Do you sort books in the library into alphabetical order and go to the toilet at precisely the same time everyday too?
Welcomes Hull's new signing please log in to view this image Thank god Nigel hasnt gone back in for him. he is useless
Well they do have talent. All players at this level do have talent. But the pacey players at this level are often criticised for not having enough end product. However, my point is that if the pacey players had the same end product as the slower players then they would be in the premiership. For example do you thing Aaron lennon has better product than Snodgrass? No, but Snodgrass' ability with electric pace would put him right at the top.
We all know what you're saying Ed, put a slow skillful player will always be more successful than a pacey player with no end product. End product is crucial to winning games. You can't win without goals. Skillful players without pace will always make room for themselves and set up chances and score good goals themselves. Nearly every time I see Dyer, and players of his ilk, they get you out of your seat...and then you slide back into it in disappointment as the ball hits the the opposite corner flag or is given to the opposition to set up a counter attack. The real frustrating thing with Dyer is how often he messes up an easy pass or misses the target completely when shooting. He does have some talent, but we see it too infrequently.
Richie Wellens of old summed it up. He wasnt the fastest but his brain and ability more then made up. The media said he was the best midfielder in the league Lloyd Dyer always will give a right back a tough time with his pace but his end product is very inconsistent. If he was more consistent he would have at least had a crack at the prem
Yes, but that is why Dyer isnt in the premiership. And wellens doesnt work as he isnt a winger. My point is that every team needs pace- whether its to bring on for start. Look at the Kebe's, Adomah's, Dyers (nathan and Lloyd)- non had real end product, but the pace changed the game. Its not no-end product, just limited. Now look at the Aaron Lennons and Scott Sinclairs of the game. Same pace, and better end product. They have no better end product than the likes of Snodgrass, or Gallagher (maybe)- but they are combined, and so a real premiership threat.
That's not spelling, it's using the wrong word, it's butchery of the English language. I blame the parents. How did you know I had a library?
According to Sky Sports News, us, you and Sheff Wednesday are monitoring a 6"5 Danish striker called Nicklas Helenius
*Were. I think we have all given up interest now we have signed (or nearly signed) target men of our own. Futacs, Prostateswitch and Harewood.
