They probably don't want to fund it... Something was close then they went quiet.
The new guys admitted to having to increase revenues, if we eventually get a new stadium, we'll be playing at the "insert sponsors name" arena/stadium/park.
Sad, but true.

And there's been a goal in the 5pm kick off at the Stadium of Bob, but who's it gone to?

Think this sums up my feeling on PIF with it C- rating

None of these arseholes thought Newcastle would have won something and been in the champions league twice in the first 4 years when they took over.
Think they are just saying they are surprised out how passive PIF have been since the takeover. Yes they have provided funds for the playing team but everything else has been glacier and non controversial.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, Man C and others just do as they like with minor or no punishment.

Maybe we'll get a raft of announcements in the next few weeks....... I hope.

I would agree, but there's also the potential that the plan is right on course, and being done very carefully.

When Amanda Staveley said 5 to 10 years I think people have rewritten history and peddle only the 5.... We're at 4 or 5 now, so we have to see what happens over the next 5 years.

People are getting a bit flappy and insecure... The media naturally fuel those insecurities, so believe what the club are saying imo.

Or Maybe they have lost interest, maybe they realise they cannot achieve the ambition, because of the rules, but saying that would make it more difficult.

Well after Matfen Hall summit, I’m delighted they’ve sorted out the floodlight and corporate paint area. Nothing screams long term commitment like a light show.

Problem is that the majority of the support want any new stadium to remain in the city centre. The amount of obstacles in the way because of this is enormous. You can't announce nothing until all of these have been sorted.

I'm not convinced they can be, and I can see a move out of the city centre being announced at some point. Maybe Nun's Moor?

St James' extension is a no goer due to the location, listed buildings, Metro interface problems and the fact that part of the ground would have to be closed resulting in lost revenue (something we can't currently afford to allow). Movement to a new stadium to allow expansion, is a no goer either, as no way will Sunderland (only realistic option) or the Police allow that to happen. All this for limited revenue increase for an additional 7-10,000 seats, and the same limitations within the stadium for external events to be hosted.

No excuse with the training ground though and by all reports this will be announced very soon.
