Pardew baulked Meyler then nutted him, to say Meyler 'knew what he was doing' as if that push is somehow comparable to a head-butt really is low-level thinking

Pardew maybe should have moved out of the way earlier so Meyler could get to the ball. Pardew didn't go for him right away, he seemed to let him move off then changed his mind and had a go.

But we don't want any positive attention either, so we can be "under the radar".

Yet we want SOME attention because otherwise the southern based media in Salford are ignoring us.

Come to think of it, this is about the best we can hope for.

Apologies if this has already been covered. Merge if necessary.

I haven't had chance to have a really good look at the incident with Pardew yesterday, as I didn't get chance to see MOTD last night and still haven't had a really good enough look at it. I would like to state that what Pardew did was totally unacceptable and he should receive a big ban, as would be given to any player who headbutted another player/leaned into another player with his head; should it be an even bigger ban than a player would receive, on account of him being a manager? Possibly so.

However, from what I've seen of the incident, it would appear that Meyler shoved Pardew unnecessarily. Does anyone agree? Of course, in now way would that excuse Pardew's reaction, which was just ridiculous, but I've been surprised that - as far as I'm aware - nobody has picked up on Meyler's (albeit slight) provocation. If it had ended at that, without Pardew responding, could Meyler have expected the ref to have a word in his ear?

I don't recall a shove, I saw him gently move pardew out of the way to retrieve a ball that pardew was obstructing.

What would any of you got for head butting a Geordie supporter in the ground yesterday?

Give Pardew the same, let him be arse raped daily for 6 months on (or for) her Majesty's pleasure.

Meyler had no need to shove Pardew he could have recovered the ball as his priority without needing to.Pardew's response was as astonishing as it was stupid and he deserves all the punishment he receives.

The argument a lot of people are making is "it wasn't a proper headbutt." I'm presuming force is the key factor? Yet on the other hand, they act like Meyler pushed him out of the stadium.

It was handbags until Pardew "pushed Meyler away with his head."

You have to laugh at him for saying that he was trying to push him away with his head. Next time I am trying to walk through a crowd in a bar im just going to hit people with my head until they move out of my way.

    Pardew charged...

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been charged in relation to an incident in his side’s game against Hull City on 1 March 2014.

It is alleged that in the 72nd minute of the fixture, Pardew was involved in an incident with a Hull City player that amounted to improper conduct.

Due to the serious violent and/or aggressive nature of the reported behaviour this case has been designated as non-standard.

Pardew has until 6pm on Thursday 6 March 2014 to respond to the charge.

It was a disrespectful shove, made more contact than Pardew did.
Was a time when gentlemen would walk around people rather than go through them.

Reaction was well over the top by Pardew and totally out of order, but if Pardew had stumbled backwards and fallen over, it wouldn't surprise me if Myler was sent off.

Brilliant from @SkySportsNews "Coming up, Roy Keane's opinion of Pardew incident".

Roy's view "No comment. None of my business".

The biggest laugh about it is that Pardew approached Meyler from 4 -5 feet away just to push him away again, with his head. What a cock.

Those saying Meyler should have been sent off for pushing Pardew should watch a game of football. If this was the case every game would be abandoned. Meyer didn't push him, he edged him out of the way to get the ball. Pardew should have stepped out of the way, he didn't because he's a ****. The only disappointment for me is that nobody knocked Pardew out.

Meyler did **** all wrong & was in no way responsible for the incident. It's a travesty that he was even booked.

Pardew is a **** & deserves all he gets & more.

One positive to come out of all this is that Pardew will now never be considered for the England job when Hogdson goes.
