Eight pages of intellectual insight on Sir Alan.
Fredor has even got out of his pit early on to offer his perceptive thoughts.

Then someone has to spoil it all and give us a picture of a Blobfish, admittedly there is likeness to Steve Bruce, but why??

odds on favorite for the next set of bed sheets and coffins tbf

This thread sums up a section of our support. The very same folk who held up us never coming back from a losing position are now using it as a stick to hit him with. Classic fickleness.

You want to take a poll, find out who hasn't forgiven the disgraceful scenes against Southampton, Liverpool, Sunderland, Spurs, Arsenal and Brighton first? Coming from a losing position about 3 times in 4 years is fck all to chime about. The set pieces, the hammerings we've suffered, the ignominy vs Sunderland, the capitulations, the lack of anything resembling an identity?

If we can discuss, argue and overcome these issues and Pardew is still right for this job, then so be it. Otherwise, let Palace have this man.

<laugh> could be, who knows what MA will have on his mind.
Personally, I wouldn't particularly want him here, but, if he was to get the biggest gig of his career, I'd be 100% behind him.
i think it will be ally mcoist mesell like, why pay him an inflated wage at rangers, when you have every tom dick and harry waiting in line for the job

<laugh> It still doesn't excuse the hypocrites either way. What we can discuss is with a bottom half standard squad, our manager has achieved a top 10 finish last season and kept on course for the same this year. The two years before he under achieved and massively over achieved. look at Martinez (the man many wanted), he ain't found the Europa too easy to cope with.

His only real cross to bear is the derby defeats. Not the end of the world. The bigger picture always matters more. Or do we just get Bruce? Has Poyet in his pocket?

(Forget Brighton, he is being instructed to lose in the cup)

You lot are welcome to Steve Bruce.

I'd say I'd drive him there myself but I'm not sure his head would fit through my car door.

Pulis is in there for the punters, but as I have already said he walked out on Palace because he didn't want to be a head coach, which is the job on offer here. Frank de Boer has higher aspirations, Bruce won't be Ashley's man. It's between Beardsley and Coloccini. Maybe the former for this season, the latter for next. Keep it all in house. Very much Ashley's style.

Independent claim Coloccini has the job....

If that does prove to be true, I wouldn't be surprised if it has all been done very amicably.

Pardew knows he will never be liked by the majority and has the chance to go to the club he loves.

Pardew gets on well with Colo and recommends him for the job.

Ashley allows Pardew to go with his blessing in return for a tidy sum of compensation.

Ashely gets to work with someone he knows (and presumably trusts), and someone he knows that the fans have a connection with, which lifts he pressure for a while.

Might also explain some of Colo's recent performances as these things don't happen overnight and, if true, would have been developing situations for a while now.

I once had a dog and his name was....bingo.

Newcastle United can confirm that Crystal Palace have made a formal approach requesting permission to speak to Alan Pardew in relation to their vacant managerial position.

Crystal Palace have offered compensation at a level whereby Alan has now been permitted to speak to them.

As a result of this development today (Monday), Alan will not be at training on Tuesday. Training will be the responsibility of assistant manager John Carver.

The Club will make a further announcement in due course.

There is one thing I don't think has been mentioned yet. There is s transfer window just about to open. One in which we will definitely need to strengthen. Especially if Pardew goes, as I think this makes it more likely we lose someone else. Can't see many players wanting to join a club with no manager. Bad timing all this...apart from for Mike of course.

Ashley won`t appoint anyone until the window closes in case they want to spend.

Reactions: Agent Bruce.
There's Pardew in and Pardew out fans out there. Hopefully a new manager will unite both halves.
We can then unite behind the Poyet in campaign.
