Was surprised by Ozils comments. Was more surprised seeing him running around 100% for Germany. This guy has been mugging you lot off for quite some time.
He runs more than Sanchez. They have tracked them and it has been proven time and time again. People just watch the highlights or just watch the ball and think they can measure how much players have run.
You can't tell people facts, they believe what they want to believe.
Of course he does, because Sanchez operates in a specific area of the pitch so has no need to run miles.
Ozil is supposed to be a playmaker meaning he needs to cover the whole width of the pitch from at least the hallway line up to the dead ball line and knit things together whilst occasionally breaking a sweat by sprinting. The man is a fraud that is taking good money for no effort, he loves Arsenal so much that he is really looking forward to his last season with you because he has no intention of signing another contract.
I'll forgive you, because you probably don't watch Arsenal play, but under the current System we play, Ozil and Sanchez play the same position left and right.

Essentially we are playing 3 at the back with wing-backs. Ramsey and Xhaka in the middle, then Ozil and Sanchez left and right and Giroud/Lacazette up top.
Doesn't hold his position very well then, Arsen needs to get a grip of him.
It will be interesting to see who moves for Ozil come the end of the season. Even though he is going for a Bosman and is younger than Sanchez, my gut feeling is that the latter will have more interest in him than the former. Ozil's comments are disingenuous. It is very, very rare for a player at this level to receive regular criticism without it being largely justified, especially if much of that criticism comes from his own team's fanbase. This high up the football summit where oxygen is so thin, if there is smoke, you can bloody well assume that there is at least a small fire to go with it.
Time will tell but as I say, my gut feeling is that Sanchez will have a host of massive clubs chasing his signature, whereas Mesut will be looking at the likes of Dortmund, Inter, Atletico or Liverpool. Time will tell.

Ozil's stats on distance covered last year; almost 1.5K per game more than Sanchez. About 15% more.

The real problem at Arsenal is that we have the least knowledgeable fans in the premier league. They want the absolute last thing that any manager, or club, would ever do, so of course they are always disappointed.

Ozil has said before he is happy to sign another contract and stay at Arsenal but he's left it with his agent and the club to come to an agreement. Which suggests it has been about how much is being offered as a new contract and his agent thinking he can get more.
I think if we offer the right amount he may well sign another contract.
I do think it affects him the criticism that gets aimed his way though.
