Can we now have an end to the ''Downing is a flop'' stuff. He's a talented footballer that under-performed. He was disappointing thats for sure, and I hope he keeps up this level of performance as it has showed a 100% improvement all round.

He always had it in him. He had decent games last season ie the Carling Cup final when he was MOTM, and the game against Stoke in the FA Cup, he just wasn't consistently good, just consistently disappointing. I just want to see him score more goals and be consistently good.

Yea, another doom and gloom monger, don't know what it is with you, Lucas and the american cream, i just love LFC, it appears to me as if you lot see this as some sort of popularity contest. I just like to chat about my team, and have no time for your negative BS, we should stick rtogether imo but perhaps that is just a romantic notion lost on the younger fans?

Log in, log out, make a sly comment.

All I do is make anti Man U comments (or at least stand up to the MUFC propaganda), and express my love for LFC so when I get sly digs from LFC fans it makes me wonder.

He is great to have in the squad and can play well like today, I would just rather he was backup to someone better.

I have done nothing wrong, other than be positive and stand up for my team. I have a feeling some seek attention, and my controversial style does get attention, but that is not what I am after, I just love LFC and TBH i have no real problem with the mancs, unless they come on our board giving it the big one.

When supporters from our own club make a pop at me, it makes you wonder. But I am a harcore fan, they will never win, and any fan that makes a gesture of support to me will never be forgotten.

Yea, i have no hidden agenda, i will continue to speak my mind. If I recieve negativity from the opposition fans, you understand it. But when you get attacked from 'LFC' fans when your worst crime is attacking Mufc or being positive then it makes you wonder WTF is going on. But as I said, football is not everyone's priority here.

Manciniiiiii, I think you're getting more than a little carried away about the performance (not to mention posting every 3 seconds... WOOOAAAAHHHHHHH), but I think you have a perfect right to be cautiously optimistic this season. You will probably get better as the season goes on and Rodgers hones his playing staff within the system, so a good start (and you have a VERY tough start), Liverpool could be up there. It is an if, though. These are the same players who delivered your worst league season, and you could argue if Kenny can't motivate them, who can, but Rodgers is used to making the best of what he has... It's part of the championship coaching experience.

Allen in and a good finisher to boot, and top 4 will be your "minimum" objective by mid-way <ok>

    Jack Bastard in peace<peacedove>

How was Fabio tonight?? He only played for us for a dozen or so games, but he made us click during our push for promotion and looked great when I watched him in Serie A last year. Great movement, a real poacher and great free kicks too! For someone who featured so little, he will always be a legend down here...just a shame he was already signed to Parma before we made the jump.
You have a couple of our ex-diamonds now...we shall see if they shine in the northern lights as well as they did here.

    yours

a jealous Jack (but £22 mill richer , cheers !!)

Couple of points about tonight. As we were waiting to kick off Gerrard and Suarez smiling and sharing a joke!
And in post match interview Gerrard was smiling again!
Now is this because the players are more relaxed? It would Definately seem so after a very good performance albeit against poor, opposition ( how many times have we struggled against these type of teams? )
If this is the case then 'happy days" because there were some exceptionally good signs there.
However, still lack that clinical finishing and our final ball needs a lot of work. But great movement and great to see Lucas back.
