Not ManUre or Celtic/Rangers, although Celtic hold the record for consecutive wins during the season but not from the start of a season.

A clue is the team plays in blue and white hoops although, ironically, the year they set the record they played in blue and white stripes...
 
No, Reading has already been given as the answer...

There aren't too many teams that play in blue and white hoops, the answer should be becoming obvious...

At last..<laugh>

In 1963-64 Morton won their first 23 matches before losing on the 1st February. They finished rock-bottom of the Scottish League just a couple of years previous to that but their forward-thinking manager, Hal Stewart, had the innovative idea to import Scandinavian players with spectacular success.

This was their record before their first defeat...

Jethro Tull was the inventor and he lived in Crowmarsh Gifford, South Oxfordshire from 1700 - 1710. He invented his seed drill here in 1701.
 
In 1941 during WWll, which football club's main stand was burnt down when a fireman mistook a bucket of petrol for water when attempting to dampen down a brazier? The stand was was being used as a temporary National Fire Service station.
 
Complete guess here, but I will go for Charlton as they had a massive ground after the war with only a very small seating area.

The answer was our opponents on that day - St Andrews, Birmingham City.
