No one seems to be answering this one, and I hadn't a clue, so I googled it; is that allowed? :)

    Strangely enough you are correct!

Liza: Best Actress in a Leading Role (Cabaret)
Judy: Academy Juvenile Award (The Wizard of Oz)

Providing we mean the last cavalry charge on horseback, on my historical son's advice (but not certainty) I am going for the First World war, possibly in 1917 in the country that is now known as Israel. At the time this was part of the Ottoman Empire.

I do mean the last cavalry charge on horseback, and no, not during the first World War.

Was it in India during partition? 1947 I think. I suspect it was not during a formal war, but was to disperse a mob of some kind.

The final cavalry charge by British Empire forces occurred on 21 March 1942 when a 60 strong patrol of the Burma Frontier Force encountered Japanese infantry near Toungoo airfield in central Burma

I'll give you that Kiwi - this was the last by British Empire forces. The last by the British Army itself was by the Cheshire Yeomanry in Syria in June 1941 when taking Vichy French positions - there are a couple of the survivors of this at the military hospital in Chelsea. Over to you.
