Thanks guys. Never saw Dr with scan result but caught nurse who said came back "normal" cried, ok good news but still no closer to diagnosis

Waiting to see consultant tomorrow now see what next move is.

Had food lunchtime by tea time I was crying in pain, desperately trying not to puke and have now been morphined up

    See what tomorrow brings.

Whilst it's a massive shame they haven't found the root cause, I'm glad the scan hasn't shown up anything seriously worrying. Good luck tomorrow, get better soon.

Great they don't have a clue all they want to do is give me anti sickness feed me and send me home.

They don't have a clue what's wrong with me. Really starting to feel like taking a whole pack of meptazinol painkillers at once.

Thanks chap just dunno what's left. I've been left to suffer with fibromyalgia for ten years I'm 38 can only walk short distances and that with a stick.

I get no benefits at all because I'm not disabled enough and I just don't think I can take another non-diagnosis long term. I work full time too.

Appreciate everyone on here's thoughts & best wishes, Thank you everyone

I really sympathise with you Rich, a few years ago I had these dreadful pains (albeit not excruciating), in my abdomen which just wouldn't go away. I had test after test culminating with the 'camera down the third eye' <yikes> and still they couldn't find anything. I was worried sick for weeks then all of a sudden the pains went and (touch wood), haven't returned since. Hopefully things will work out similar for you, best of luck mate <ok>

Thanks again guys I'm tempted next time to drive to Lynn instead whether that would be worse or not....

Well they've done ultrasound showed a fatty liver :-( but ct scan clear they want to do endoscopy but refused to do it as inpatient so could have say stomach cancer (worst case obviously) and gotta wait a month for appt now.

Seeing gp first thing tomorrow morning depending on what happens there will be seeing solicitor as this is ridiculous how can you discharge someone on paracetamol when they already told you that they're taking to no effect:

1000mg paracetamol, 60mg codeine (every 4 hours), 200mg meptid (every 3 hours), dihydrocodeine doesn't touch it.

So a nurse believes that paracetamol is fine unbelievably rubbish.

    Upset beyond words right now

Rich, what advice have you had in managing your fibromyalgia?

Might be worth asking your Gp to refer you to the pain management team, where the anaesthetists based there specialise in this if you have not done so already.

Going through the motions of that at the moment mate, same as referral to rheumatologist but it's like trying to get blood from a stone.

In the meantime I have acquired 2 doses of oramorph to get me through till can see gp, bloody farce you have to resort to such measures.

I've also got a friend offering fentanyl patches if need be, crazy when you force people to ask friends for help.

I've been slowly working my way thru the low level stuff as it's quicker than waiting for appt

    I've been on:

Pregabalin - this worked for 9 months, pain free
Nortriptyline - gave me restless legs
    Citalopram
    Seroxat
    Countless other SSRI's
Mirtazopine - this had interesting sexual advantages lol
    Co-codamol
Tramadol - 24 hours of puking every 3 days on this
Meptazinol - doesn't seem to do much

I wanted to try morphine or Butrans patches but gp wouldn't go there - yet

Hospital said referral to pain team but then did sod all (as usual) it's going to be very interesting discussion at practice tomorrow that's for sure.

Phoning legal advice line see if I can fire a solicitors letter across their bow.

Blimey, a mixed bag there! I would avoid using others medication though!

You are obviously going back to the GP so they may look at another pathway/combination of treatments, but the pain team may be the next option to discuss. Sad to hear you are still getting mixed levels of care though.

    Thanks for message again.

What choice do you have when you're "prescribed" paracetamol, don't like doing it but better than black market.

Had 5ml of oramorph last night so managed to get 3/4 hours sleep.

Phoning ward sister this morning too as she's already been handed my first complaint to investigate like being "evicted" from bed for 6 hours by auxiliaries, left waiting 3 hours for oramorph and listening to nurses bitching about colleagues for calling in sick, dirty urine sample container (blood and urine) left laying around for 48 hours, leak in bathroom, toilet seat stained yellow.

I know no one's perfect and don't expect it but if you can't be compassionate and understanding to all patients why go into healthcare?

I don't like admitting this especially on a public forum but I was actually counting tablets that I had on Saturday evening because I'd just had enough but fortunately a very very kind nurse was on nights but I seriously thought about it.

Was just made to feel like I was some kind of morphine junkie every time I asked for it, I didn't ask to be written up for it but that's what they give I'd have taken anything.

CQC were in Saturday I was gutted they didn't see me.

    Hi all

I don't know if anyone's interested or not (please tell me to shut up if you want) but feels better getting it out iykwim?

Not much has changed since I last updated. I have an appt to see liver specialist in Dec despite them not thinking that's the problem.

On my discharge letter it said i was to be given outpatient for endoscopy which hasn't happened - gp furious.

GP put me on gabapentin which made me suicidal so off that now and on a few other things instead. Spent Saturday night puking for 8 hours torn muscles in back, side, stomach and neck puking up bile , v unpleasant.

Anyway after talking to her today she's more concerned than ever with some of my neurological symptoms some of which are historical but on-going like burning pain feet, numb spots behind knees, loss of hair on lower legs, added to which bladder issues and the feeling of being squeezed around the middle.

So now have to wait for an mri to see what's happening with my nerves. I'm bracing myself for diagnosis of MS I know self diagnosis is dangerous but it's the only obvious thing that covers all symptoms. Hopefully it's not but I'm trying to prepare for it as best I can

Going back to work part-time soon so that's good news.
