I consider all media people who come out with the classic " the whole nation" line as being pricks.

just a couple of weeks ago some one came out with " the whole nation" will be celebrating the queens jubilee...


wrong again because i sure wasnt as i couldnt give a toss about the royals neither could thousands of others..

im sure the whole nation wont be supporting Andy Murray which is what was claimed on the bbc.

also iv a bet on murray to lose by 3 sets to nil.

The whole nation thing is also a Southern bias thing I think, their version of the whole nation ends at the Watford Gap. The BBC coverage of Murray this morning was vomit worthy, and I remember during the semi v Tsonga one of the commentators was shocked somebody with a English accent was supporting Tsonga as if it was an act of treason

Without being too much of a tennis fan, I watched the game and found it quite enjoyable.

I think as the game wore on, Murray became ever more ragged (looked like he had a leg strain), and Fed became cooler and cooler.

Some great shots at time from Fed, and from the 3rd set onwards I don't think it was ever in doubt.

Also, I understand people's points about Murray, and I can't say I think he's likeable, but I ended up wanting him to win as I watched. He was just outclassed in the end.

The commentators son came up with the excuses about how things changed for Murray because playing under the roof was advantageous for Federer. Why cant they just accept that Murray was beaten by a better player.

I saw a tweet earlier suggesting sue baker thought that the roof was a technical miracle. As it went on to say, can't wait for her to discover the kettle!

Also noted that the Queen threatened to cuff cliff richard if he started singing while the roof was shutting. There must be a break of some kind I suppose.

The match changed when Fed SOMEHOW won that 2nd set after Murray wasted several break points that in any other situation he'd have won.

Also the lack of weather conditions with the roof closed helped Fed's serve no end, indoor Fed can pretty much put the ball wherever he wants even Murray as one of the top return players alongside Djokovic is going to struggle as was evident in fridays semi-final between Fed and Djokovic

I think Murray will eventually take that Final step, possibly at Flushing Meadows where the conditions will suit him a lot more, and playing on a hard court always help him!

Overall it was a superb game to end the tournament and the greatest of all time wrote himself further into the record books, and the defeat should not dishearten Murray if he'd taken that 2nd set like he should have I feel he'd have taken the win!

Agree with you there. There is no shame in losing to the greatest player to ever play Tennis

It was a decent watch in the end, I despise the way Wimbledon attracts so many people who for the rest of the year say they hate sport but are suddenly experts for two weeks in July and I don't have much of an interest in Tennis, but it was still entertaining, it might seem weird but I like to see a really awesome ace which just can't be returned and Federer hit a few really good ones today.
