    Angry Barmby to appeal sacking

Nick Barmby has declared his intention to appeal against his sacking by Hull and has hit out at the club for making public their reasons for his dismissal.

The 38-year has been dismissed by owners Assem and Ehab Allam after less than six months in charge of the Tigers, as they took exception to comments he made questioning the lack of money made available to him in January.
In a statement issued via the League Managers' Association, Barmby said: "I am obviously hugely disappointed to have been dismissed. I maintain that my sacking was entirely without justification. In everything I have done for the club I have always acted in the best interests of Hull City.
"I was told that I had seven days within which to submit an appeal against my dismissal, and yet the club has now made an official statement, on behalf of the board, stating publicly the alleged reasons for my dismissal and indicating that the search for a new manager will begin immediately.
"I nevertheless intend to appeal. As the matter is subject to an appeal and, if necessary, legal proceedings, it would not be appropriate for me to make any further comment at this stage, despite the fact that the club has seen fit to go public with its version of events."
He added: "I would like to pay tribute to the supporters, players and staff of Hull City Football Club for the huge support they have given me throughout my time at the club, and if my appeal should not be successful I would like to wish the club all the best for the future."

It seems to be who you trust about this and i've read all the comments. But who on here or any other board knows Nick or the Allams enough to say they're telling the truth or lying? Until you get to know a person you don't know whether to trust them or not, so how can anyone say they trust one party or the other in this?

The only thing you can do is wait until both sides have had their say and someone in the know on either side says which is true. We won't know on here unless we know either party personally.

Why on earth would Barmby appeal?

He has our best interests at heart, thanks the fans etc.... So how does the help our club? He loves our club i don't deny that, but i don't get what appealing really does.

I'm not sure I know of a club that has lost 2 managers in a season. But if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will put me right.

But he has not been sacked for football reasons, for not getting promotion or anything, he has been sacked for saying what every other manager says. As for there being more to it, oh yes I would go along with that - more to it on Nick's side. They are flexing their muscles, they are in charge and everyone must be forever grateful to them to the point where we do not question any decision they make and bow and scrape and curtsey etc etc. So so angry.

Not absolutely everything he does has to be in the best interests of the club.
This is personal. He's feels the sacking is completely unjustified, and he'll want to win the case to clear his name and save dignity if nothing else.
    Good on him.

Yes but i don't give two monkeys about that, i care about whats best for my club, and he's already said he doesn't want to manage anywhere else, so why should it matter?

Sorry for not wanting to support Barmby in his crusade against the Allams.

Ignoring all that has been said on this subject I have had time to reflect on what has gone on. It is my belief that the Hull city board didn't think Barmby was experienced , astute, and political enough to be in such a top job to achieve the Allams expectations for the future. They took the first opportunity, excuse or reason to push him out so that a more seasoned manager could be brought in. I just hope they know what they are doing and are getting good advice. (Megson, Dowie, Ince could be in their sights.)<whistle>

Oh, so you support the Allams in all this?
I'd have thought that if you loved the club so much you would love Barmby too and not simply tell him to **** off the second he leaves, regardless of circumstances, and in these particular circumstances I assure you that 99% of City fans will be behind Barmby and not some Egyptian tyrants.

At the end of the day they are of Egyptian descent, can't see the probem in describing them as Egyptians as such and they seem to support a lot of Egyptian causes too, probably because they are Egyptians

In the fullness of time, people will find out that there is much that the Allam's have put out recently which is inaccurate, misleading and downright shabby.

They will find out that the cost cutting doesn't just include club staff, but also the playing staff, in a seriously shabby manner.

In light of Nick's legal action, I'm not going to post any more on the matter, but he's been shafted.

I'm disgusted, despite well over thirty years of supporting City, I think this is one of the shabbiest days in our history.

I am not behind either, why do i have to be on either's side?

Can't i look at this logically. Firstly its quite possible Allam would give money for a big name striker yet not someone like Adam Hammill, especially already with Brady, Stewart, Garcia, Mclean and King. Or maybe he wanted more say.

Yet Barmby has the right to sign who he wants. However he is an employee of the Allams and he has to do what they want surely? Do you tell your boss to invest more money?

I don't think it has come out that well, and i agree, and i would prefer that Barmby was still our manager, however what can i do about this? At this point there is no way they can work together.

So why should i blindly support one side when i do not know half the story?
