I'm amazed so many seemingly intelligent people are prepared to believe whatever the Allams say without question Two sides to every story and we have only heard the Allams side
I didn't say it was right, but without the Allams there's no knowing where we would be except in the very low leagues. I hope people are wary of protesting but the Allams will know what is under the surface of City supporters if it really goes wrong and they too will be wary of their investment, ( of £51 mill.)
Based on the board statement, if the facts are as stated the sacking is understandable as he has brought the Allams reputation into disrepute. However, if you were to take the example of the potential gift a sports village, that later became a request for the Council to hand over the kc first, with this track record there are grounds for believing Barmby could have easily misunderstood or doubted the board's intentions re transfer kitty. On balance I am backing the Allams and would urge others to do so as they have to work with someone whom they trust and there might not have been a club without them, but their clarity & transparency about the direction of the club is needed in the future
That is precisely it. The Allams can feed us whatever they like whilst others haven't broken their silence. Why would a manager turn down available funds? They wouldn't. It's a lie.
You seem indignant that Barmby is labelled (by you actually) a liar, but, when you think about it, the Allams have reacted this way because he effectively called them liars. Seems to me we are in danger of causing this to spiral out of control.
Club will go on without Nicky Barmby, not sure what would happen without the Allams. i was more peed off when Nigel Pearson walked. this time next year we could have won automatic promotion or be heading to a play off final if that happens then everyone will be dancing in the streets and singing the names of Assem and Ehab Allam and who ever gets the managers job.
Nicky is appealing his statement shows his class, unlike the Allams, am rooting for Nicky even if it costs the club, right is right
Look, it's fairly simple - that statement from the Allams makes some pretty bold statements, ones which are either true, or will crumble when lawyers get involved. Nick will not have gone into contract negotiations in October/November without witnesses, and without getting what he was being promised in writing. If Allams have reneged on that, there will be consequences for them. If Barmby cannot defend his corner, however, I cannot see how the Allams are in the wrong. We won't want to - but as fans we need to keep our powder dry and watch what comes out in the wash. Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. And stop mixing metaphors.
OLM, it's the employment rights aspect that I am talking about. Fixed term contracts for individuals rely on the terms of the contract. I hope he gets a big pay off, but I bet that there is a gagging order that goes with it.
Mel U my worry is that they would pay him off, he isn't going to talk so maybe he is looking after himself financially, the truth will out though it always does.
Yep, I'm on your side in this. I'm sorry for Nick Barmby, I'm sorry for the club, but he won 13 out of 33 which is about a third. 3 weeks ago we were all screaming that if we'd bought a decent striker in January we'd be going up now. Then the owners would have got their money back plus! What would you do if someone cost you £50million by their ineptitude and then blamed you for it! Guess this all hinges on whether or not there was money available for a striker or not. As I recall it Nick said we didn't need one. 3 weeks ago most of us thought he was wrong and were screaming it from the rooftops (and on here). It now seems we are being told money was made available and Nick made the wrong call. Unless you believe the Allams are now lying? Personally I rather think the money was there. After all I have no reason to disbelieve the Allams, and nobody who knows (including Nick Barmby) is saying otherwise. Has anyone on here actually got evidence? I'll even accept someone saying they heard first hand from NB that there was no money. If he was told that why not say so now? After all he can't be sued if what he says is true. And they can't sack him again now!
is there anybody in the club to assist with a new manager search now adam isnt there, or is it simply down to the allams??
Nicky Barmby is a Hull City legend but the Allams have bought the right to run this club as they see fit. Whilst I don't entirely agree with the removal of NB from his position, depending on who they choose to replace him with, this could be a good thing. Or a disaster.
So why would they lie? Why don't the others "break their silence" Because what the Allams are saying is true, that's why!
Goes from bad to worse really, they will use Nicky as a smoke screen not to bring players in next and ship out our best ones- I thought at the time the Allams were too good to be true now we are finding it out the hard way
Nick has responded and will appeal. They told him he has 7 days in which to appeal, but have announced they have commenced a search for his replacement already. This is also rather ****ty of them. Like the rest of this episode. You are obviously easily persuaded. That is your problem.
