He surely isn't on that much, he wasn't a bosman, and you signed him when few clubs would touch him.

Wasn't he supposedly after 50k a week? Considering how influential he is to the team, he's worth that.

£8-10 million plus wages to even think about a replacement.

I'd take him in a blink.
 
I think you'll look at a young unpolished player who you can utilise for the next five years. Ashley seems to love these five year contracts he's throwing around.

I couldn't name a winger who's had a better season in Europe who'd be cheaper but then I'm not one of your scouts.

I'm sure you'll have someone in mind to replace him. You wouldn't just get rid without replacing your star man. You're not Steve Bruce.

He still has another season left though but you would still have to question his committment for the coming season, although he may play out of his skin to get a move in January.

Bad move by the Toon hierachy though, unless they have a replacement in mind??

I thought Barton was exceptional the times I saw him and just the sort of player you want in your team. A pain in the arse to opposition fans but a top quality player nonetheless? I reckon this will start a few bids coming for him now this summer and he will go for a fraction of the amount you paid.

I'd have him these days. The 'new' Joey Barton seems to have calmed himslef down a bit these days and has matured a helluva lot IMO, from the one we saw 2 or 3 years ago.

Collocinni, Barton and Enrique and what about Tiote (he has turned a few heads in the EPL this season). Looks like 3 of your best players will be leaving? If Tiote left as well, what chance a panic ensuing next term?

Still, there's always the Amadonkey brothers to pull you out of the ****e?

I expected someone to post it on your board. Could be worse but where the **** have you got those names from. Enrique looks like he's going but nothings confirmed, Barton we still don't really know anything about, Collo was linked with someone once and nothing about Tiote lol.
Still, don't mind the laughs, i just had to think what we'd be like if you lost someone that good
 
Not a lot you can do about agents using the media to up the ante. I suspect even fatty may make some more effort to keep him.Players wage demands are a ****ing ticking time-bomb.
 
Not re-signing Barton would be stupid, even by Fat Mike's standards, which are pretty bad TBH.

He's settled, he's playing well and he's on a good screw. What's there for him and NUFC not to like?
