it was my title and amalgamated by Dorset with a mag post on here, as we did the same thread about the same time. and ssn confirmed it was Mewcastle not offering a new contract. the spellings on purpose
Ever since Barton has signed you lot have constantly berated him, and now that it looks like he might be leaving it's "great player, we should sign him". Anyway, I ****ing hate McKay and can't help but think he's just looking for another pay day. If it's true and Joey doesn't want to take a pay cut so his contract fits in with the new vital wage structure then so be it, but I can't see why he wouldn't when he wouldn't earn more anywhere else and he constantly states his love for the club/fans/city when he doesn't have to. Seems very fishy to me and we'll have to wait and see what happens but like I said, McKay is one slimey bastard.
We may have 'berated' him for being a twat, but nobody has ever questioned his ability. All agents a re ****ing ****ers, i dunno why players even need them.
So whats the new wage structure 100 a week in yer hand and a canny bag of Tudor ..... oh and free Gregg's for life
ã50k/week apparently, reckon Barton's on a bumper Fat Fred pay them what they want contract of near ã70k atm
Nolan & Enrique will be next if Ashley is not going to pay the rivets TBH Nolan, Barton & Enrique have been Newcastles best players this season and if they move on they will all get more money. No player that has had good season and needs a new contract would take a pay cut. Just shows Ashleys true ambition
Couldn't disagree more that they would get more elsewhere. Enrique's on around ã55k, Barton ã70k and Nolan ã50k+. Who will pay them more? What ambition of Ashley's are you talking about? He's a self made billionaire ffs, far from the idiot a lot of people make (mostly our fans) make him out to be. Are you really stupid enough to think that he wants to get relegated or something? He's put a wage structure in place which needed to be done, our club needs to be supporting itself financially. If Jose, Barton and Nolan don't want to stay here on reasonable wages then so be it. Nothing we can do about it. Replace them and let them move on for the greater good of the club.
I'm quite shocked about this. Thought he would probably see out his career at SJP. If he was one of ours, I would be gutted to see him leave. He's going to be very hard to replace, because he has great ability and more importantly, the right mentality for the Mags.
Barton, Nolan & Enrique have all had good seasons if a team comes in for them (Like when Milner went to Villa) they will get payed more Money its what happens. Just like when Bent left us for Villa he went for the Money. Liverpool are supposed to be interested in Barton im sure if he goes there he will get more than what Newcastle want to pay him. My point about Ashleys ambition is If the three players mentioned do leave he will have to replace them with players who are just as good. And if he is not prepared to pay the wages he wont get them. Plus if Barton leaves now he has 12 months left on his contract so you will have to take a lower price for him or lose him and get nothing in 12 months. I cant see Ashley spending millions to replace Barton, Nolan or Enrique can you
Ofcourse he will, the money is there to spend and we've already been assured it will be put back into the club as transfer fees and wages of said transfers. Like I said, Ashley isn't a moron, anyone could see if we lost those three they'd need replaced. Everyone seems to think that just because Carroll was sold in January and wasn't replaced that the same is going to happen this summer which is bollocks. Selling Carroll for ã35m was absolutely the right thing to do and he wasn't replaced because there was no time to replace him, not because funds weren't available. I'm going to stick my neck out now and say our team will definately be a lot stronger come 1st September than it is now and I wish everyone (most of our fans) would stop talking **** based on pure speculation and nonsense.
reckon there will be a few after him, hope we are one of them, but seems villa are also in the hunt. ASTON VILLA aim to tempt Joey Barton into making an early exit from Newcastle United after claims from the unsettled midfielder's agent that the offer of a new contract is no longer on the table at St James' Park. Barton has outlined his intention to see out the remaining 12 months of his existing deal. But his advisor, Willie McKay, indicated last night that the former Manchester City man is unlikely to extend his stay beyond that "unless there is new owners".
