As of 10mins ago, the local rag The Examiner confirming Nige hasn't been offered the gig.
Sounds like someone on Nigel's team as jumped the gun and wrongly informed the BBC then ?
Shades of Peter Taylor and the Palace job he thought he had, but hadn't, which cost him his job at City and he finished up at Charlton instead.
May be not aligned?
Nigel hasn't got a team, he doesn't even have an agent.
So the backroom staff that he brought with him and left with him when he took the job at City are not in his team ?
It was also suggested on here that Nigel wouldn't sign the contract offered to him at City because one of his team hadn't been offered one ?
Think you're mixing 'operational team' (day to day coaching etc) with 'management team' (who manages Niges affairs off the field, if anybody)
Why do you think it has to be someone from Nigels's team who informed the BBC? any man (or woman) or his dog could have fed a line to the BBC or any other news agency for that matter.
Eh...... PT did go to Palace after us didn't he?
He did indeed and he's never managed Charlton.
Exactly, and as far as I'm aware, his operational 'team' that left with him, was Andy Crosby.
Taylor had an interview at Charlton and claimed he suddenly realised (during the interview) that he still had a job to do at Hull City.
A week later he took the Palace job.
He was full of ****.
Yeah, let's not count those back to back promotions.
Dear friends, I was just looking for a thread "McCann's done one". Why it's not started?
Unfortunate really, especially when he was also let down on that job you confirmed that he had lined up before he left us, some pages back.
He soon found his level though, mid table championship manager at best
My Gran could've got that team promotions. As champions though.
We were mid table League 2 when he came in.
A lot of grannies had a go at getting City promoted , it only took nineteen years to eventually achieve one. I suppose everyone's granny could also have got us to an F.A. Cup Final against Arsenal with the 'easy' run we had. Oddly we've had dozens of easy runs but didn't make it beyond the third round.

Palace, Charlton ? what is the difference ? All London clubs to me. Either way Taylor sneaked off to join one, thought he had the job, then joined the other. That was my point.
