Sounds like someone on Nigel's team as jumped the gun and wrongly informed the BBC then ?
Shades of Peter Taylor and the Palace job he thought he had, but hadn't, which cost him his job at City and he finished up at Charlton instead.

May be not aligned?

Nigel hasn't got a team, he doesn't even have an agent.
So the backroom staff that he brought with him and left with him when he took the job at City are not in his team ?
It was also suggested on here that Nigel wouldn't sign the contract offered to him at City because one of his team hadn't been offered one ?

Think you're mixing 'operational team' (day to day coaching etc) with 'management team' (who manages Niges affairs off the field, if anybody)

Why do you think it has to be someone from Nigels's team who informed the BBC? any man (or woman) or his dog could have fed a line to the BBC or any other news agency for that matter.

Taylor had an interview at Charlton and claimed he suddenly realised (during the interview) that he still had a job to do at Hull City.

A week later he took the Palace job.

He was full of ****.

A lot of grannies had a go at getting City promoted , it only took nineteen years to eventually achieve one. I suppose everyone's granny could also have got us to an F.A. Cup Final against Arsenal with the 'easy' run we had. Oddly we've had dozens of easy runs but didn't make it beyond the third round.
