I was told this afternoon that Adkins and Crosby were offered significantly reduced terms, so much so, that Adkins offered to switch some of his wage to Crosby.

Probably bollocks, but after what's gone on in the past few years, I'm finding anything believable.

The reduced terms wouldn't be a surprise in itself. But I think there must be far more to this delay than money. I think it's about ambition.

There’ll be no ambition until they finally crawl back under their rock, and, as you rightly suggest, if Adkins goes that’ll be the main reason.

And, concessions or not, the support will not return in greater numbers until they’ve gone.

There's no amount of Grandstanding that they could lay upon a table that will make me consider going .
It's Leave or nothing !

It's probably about the length of the deal. He and crosby still commute to the club rather than living over here. When asked about this Crosby's wife just acknowledged that there's zero level of security so why bother moving.

I think that's true of football management in general. It's a really messed up industry.

The bookies don't appear to think so.
They also had Karanka as 2nd favourite earlier so you never know!
They'll be too busy pricing up Juve now, might be worth a cheeky ask! On that, Conte to juve, Allegri to Barca and Mourinho to Inter, you can have that for nowt!

Barca's chairman said yesterday the manager has their backing and will be staying.
Of course that could be the kiss of death for him...
