The reduced terms wouldn't be a surprise in itself. But I think there must be far more to this delay than money. I think it's about ambition.

Six feet under would be nice.

There’ll be no ambition until they finally crawl back under their rock, and, as you rightly suggest, if Adkins goes that’ll be the main reason.

And, concessions or not, the support will not return in greater numbers until they’ve gone.

Why would reducing his terms not be a surprise?
    Genuine question

I would say that the budget set bt the Allam's would mean savings across the board, including the coaching staff that are out of contract.

Just cos that's the obvious attitude around the club at the moment. It's well known to be the case for Campbell and I can't see the Allams thinking Adkins is exempt from that.

You could say the same about their approach to ticket prices.

It's probably about the length of the deal. He and crosby still commute to the club rather than living over here. When asked about this Crosby's wife just acknowledged that there's zero level of security so why bother moving.

I think that's true of football management in general. It's a really messed up industry.

They also had Karanka as 2nd favourite earlier so you never know!
They'll be too busy pricing up Juve now, might be worth a cheeky ask! On that, Conte to juve, Allegri to Barca and Mourinho to Inter, you can have that for nowt!

Barca's chairman said yesterday the manager has their backing and will be staying.
Of course that could be the kiss of death for him...
