Nigel Adkins wants time to "digest" Hull City's offer to remain as Head Coach -

Oh dear, is it that good, an offer he can't refuse?? Article in HDM;

Nigel Adkins has confirmed he has now been formally offered a new contract to stay on as Hull City head coach next season.

Adkins met with vice chairman Ehab Allam last Wednesday to discuss plans for 2019-20 and, as part of that dialogue, received the assurance he would receive an extension to the deal currently due to expire this summer. A firm proposal was then put to Adkins on Tuesday night this week, progress the 53-year-old described as a “positive step” in clarifying his future.

Adkins will take time to “digest” the offer made by City ahead of travelling to Ipswich Town on Saturday but offered no indication that an extended spell as head coach was now a formality. “I received something from the football club on late Tuesday,” said Adkins. “I’d gone to watch Doncaster and Bristol Rovers and when I got back the club had made an offer. “They’d like me to stay here next season, which is great. I’m very appreciative of that.
“From my point of view I’ll digest that but my focus and energies are getting ready for this weekend’s game now.”

Asked if he was happy with the contract tabled, Adkins added: “As I’ve said, the club has made an offer and that’s a positive step that I’m appreciative of.
“Yesterday was the first time I’ve had the chance to scan through what was being proposed. “But obviously, having spoken with the owner last week, I’ve got an understanding of where the club is. That’s important and you digest all of that. “But it’s important from my point of view now to emphasise that our energies are on a big game this weekend.”

Adkins has been a success during his 16-month reign as City boss. Initially staving off the threat of relegation to League One last season, he rebuilt his side to launch an unlikely push for the Championship play-offs this term.

The Tigers are currently 12th in the Championship, six points adrift of the play-off places.

He's off.

The Allams are demonstrating, and yet again confirming, they are sound business people but by their own admission know bugger all about football!

This has been the issue from day one. Owners who have no emotional attachment to Hull City as we, the supporters, do (Allam has stated he never watched Hull City in all his years living in Hull & has no interest in football). They are motivated solely by making money & treat the supporters exactly the same as a punter looking to buy a diesel engine for their boat (ie this is the price, take it or leave it). They have no understanding of how it feels to be a fan & are clueless on how to grow a football club by treating the fans with respect. Look at the number of empty seats for every home game, but these 2 idiots just don't get it & never will. Whilst the club still owes them money via the loan they will never leave (easy money, few million every year in interest for doing no work). They have plundered the Premier League money, parachute payments & sold off any players of value & are now left holding a baby they have no interest in & no intention of investing a single penny in. Morally they are on par with Hinchcliffe & Buchanan (ie asset strippers)

NO not having that (last sentence). Morally they are WAY below Hinchcliffe & Buchanan, and any other owner weve had (at least during my time, which is 50 odd years). No question.

Speaking about contracts, Campbell has posted on Instagram a picture of his locker with the door (which had his name on) broken and the captain “it’s only been broken 5 months.”

Clearly, the owners are even saving money there. Why pay to fix the door if you’re letting the player go?

Can't see it, has he deleted it?

His comments certainly are not in the usual Nigel way, I also feel he is looking elsewhere and if something comes up he will be off. Scunny still a possibility, would you rather work for Allam or Swann?

I've been saying for a while now that even Adkins with all his positivity has a point were he says "enough is enough", I have no doubt that other chairman's in the championship/EFL have noticed what he has achieved with one hand tied behind his back at city, I for one don't think that he'll be short of offers from clubs come June, which is a shame as the guy has won me over after i was one of his major doubters, anyway just another day at City, well done Ehab you really have the art of pissing people off down to a fine art.

Not at all sure about that I'm afraid. if they were sound business people they wouldn't have made various decisions, on concessions etc, that have driven the crowds down to a historic low for the KC. They're greedy, manipulative, non-inclusive, narrow and short minded business people who are trying to rescue a complete **** up and don't really know how to do it in the football world. You can't run all businesses exactly the same and football 'aint marine generators. Also if they were excellent marine generator businessmen how do explain their latest results, and have you seen they're website? Nah they're ****s, end of, and only half way competent marine generator business people at best.
