    I think you missed the point, due to the way fishermen worked, 5 tides at home, then back to sea, most didn't go and watch either football or Rugby. What I was saying was that out of the relative few who did go and watch a game when they were home, most seemed to watch Hull FC rather than City.

    A typical time at home for the crew that were married.

    Arrive tide 1 say midnight.
    Pick up their settlings (Money) lunchtime Tide 2
    In the pub that lunchtime and evening, Tide 3
    Next day usually went into town with the wife and lunchtime and evening in the pub, tide 4-5
    Sail the next morning.

    AS you see very little time to do anything else.

    Yes , the contracts end at the end of june , that's just the way it works . If players sign in january they will have a half year on the contract length
