'every Tom, Dick and Harry who is a Johnson is involved in football....'
Americans would snigger at this statement - for yanks, the word ‘johnson’ has a specific meaning <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>
Very pleased for him - and Sunderland. Well done.

I’m not sure this should be in a thread about Nige and the way forward ..... where’s the mod when you need him <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

:emoticon-0138-think
and the other side of the coin by the Steve Cotterill luvees is that this was some great trophy that marks out a great manager. Funny how without saying it, you always highlight the negative view of LJ:emoticon-0138-think

Wow mind reading now?

I actually congratulated LJ and have always given him respect over his keeping us in the Championship.

well deserved .. he gave up the previous opportunity to get us out of the sh*** now he just needs to get promotion to seal a good year for Sunderland ...and himself of course... there will be those who at the time were euphoric we won the cup .. the silverware .. the status .. but now the bitterness in them / some will rise and it will be a tinpot cup an unworthy trophy etc .. best of luck to them... and to LJ. .promotion will be the icing on the cake

Not mentioning any names, but when someone goes on and on about how bad a manager LJ was and the terrible signings made and how there was no way he would be offered another decent role.........but then has the faith in his ability to put money on the club he manages, to win a trophy and gain promotion...does make me chuckle.......and he calls me daft!!
He's right though.....just by reading his comments and taking them seriously makes me daft as a brush!! <laugh><laugh><laugh>

If in his last 2 seasons with us his players had respect for him or Holden, they sure had a funny way of showing it.
Nothing to do with respect IMO.........getting them to gel and failing to get in players to serve key positions was his downfall.
One hopes that NP will rectify our situation.

Poor old Wiz he must be gutted his most hated figure in football has won a trophy he said he'd never win anything, well the young man proved you wrong could even get promoted, if he does you will be able to go down the gate next season and congratulate him. :)
