Let's look at Neil Lennons managerial record:

Celtic

And he managed them in the Champions League.

Now I know this is 'only' Scottish Football, but still it's quite impressive to be Champions 3 times on the bounce and to win the Scottish Cup twice. He also seems to be doing well at Bolton where he took them on an 8 match unbeaten run including 4 clean sheets with which Bolton rose 10 places from bottom of the league to 14th (sound familiar anyone ;);) )

Personally I think Lennon is a reasonable shout, he's an Ex City player, has passion (Which does spill over sometimes), has European Cup managerial experience. But will he have unfinished business at Bolton?? I certainly would have liked to have seen him bring Bolton to the brink of promotion first, but maybe it's worth a punt.

At least he seems to 'want' the job....

Lennon would be ok for me. He´s got LC history & he´s passionate.
We just need to keep hold of our scouting staff & turn ourselves into a top 10 side. Not sure what went on with NP but I can´t help thinking he could of took us alot further.

What evidence is there that Lennon is any good as a manager? Winning things with Celtic in Scotland certainly counts for nothing, particularly since Rangers disappeared from the scene. Bolton haven't done anything of note. It would be a sentimental appointed to appease the fans, as would any move for O'Neill.

<laugh> There's more chance of the FA appointing me as England manager, they don't take risks, ever.

I don't think that appointing Pearson would be a risk. He's quite clearly an astute coach who knows his onions.

Trouble is he's got press conference tourettes. It'll never happen because he can't handle a spotty graduate armed with pen and paper.

Not 1 Leicester player has said anything on twitter about Nigel leaving. Surely that have been gagged

They're highly paid professionals who will just carry on regardless. Their contracts are with the club not NP. Do you really think that if NP had had an offer from a "bigger" club he would have stayed?

As is there right - shows what a good group of professionals we have.

If my employer told me not to talk about a management change, I wouldn't as it is the company that I work for, not the manager.

Tom from Kasabian has been asked for his thoughts on NP sacking and his reply was "Its amazing, he is arrogant, rude and stubborn"

I think we could use them words to describe a lot of managers to be honest. Sir Alex and Jose are 2 that fit that mould

The two most successful managers of the modern era.

Obviously im not comparing Pearson to them but you cant slate Pearson for it and let them off

NP is very well respected by all the media who know him off the cameras. Turn a camera and NP clams up

... Brian Clough would be another ... but as Weller points out ... these guys backed up such arrogance with trophy rooms full of silverware ...

Mourinho is simply the best football tactician I can remember, just seems to identify what needs doing and does it. Arrogant? Yes, Stubborn? Yes, Petulant? Yes Rude? Sometimes Nasty? Sometimes Clever? Very

Fergie pretty much the same but with a vindictive streak and the might of Man. Utd behind him.

Pearson doesn't clam up in front of a camera/microphone he just becomes hostile and antagonistic - why couldn't he just be himself? (if it is different to his public persona).

There's no way that the three can be compared in terms of managerial achievements.

Because they were given time. FFS Pearson's had ONE season at the highest level, and he took a club that's not survived in the Premier League since 2001 to 14th place. I'd say that's an excellent start.
