I can't find anything in either the online version of "Das Bild" or "Sport Bild". Perhaps I should try "Sport Build"
westhull made it up... The guy clearly wants to stay in Bundesliga... If you were a player like tom cairney and got an offer for ligue 2 in france or southampton in the PL what would you do?? the fee Paderborn want is 1.5milliion euros not that bad for a decent striker... but furth's boss says it's too much and that they have other alternatives... basically they're not willing to just accept that price without any negotiations from paderborn. So potentially if they don't want to budge and we are willing to offer the most and he has no other teams interested, then we may have a chance... but otherwise it's looking more like he is pushing for a move to furth. He does not want to play and stay in the second division of any league.
He can't stay in the Bundesliga, he's never played in it. He's a second division striker. It's far from clear cut. £1.5m is a lot of money for a club in Germany to pay, especially if they are preparing for a quick return to Bundesliga 2. So the price to Hull City is probably more than the price Greuther Furth would pay. The player could earn more playing for us than playing for them too. The quotes attributed to him don't mention us at all. So could have come before our interest was known. Either way, I won't be too bothered. He looks decent but he's a big gamble given his CV.
His league is called bundesliga 2... top league is bundesliga 1... both are bundesliga... trying to be pedantic but my comment is valid... he wants to remain in the german league... therefore the Bundesligas Also it's 1.5 million euros.. making it £1.2 million... Actually they do mention us... one of his coaches mentions our interest and how he is not interested in being in any other country's 2nd division and would rather go up a division. We have no german players/connections... he has no ties with our country or even fewer with that area of the country... you're asking a player to move countries and relocate and what for? to play in the 2nd division and with a club he probably knows nothing about... We can't even offer him £20k... so I see absolutely no reasons for him to move... Unless we become the only ones interested, in which case he may decide to even stay. but there has been interest from other german clubs in the past couple months and even west ham were interested in february
Who mentions us? I have looked all over for articles in English and German about Proschwitz, and I can't find anything other than a typical agent-lead article indicating that if a 1. Bundesliga club in Greuther Furth come in for him, he'd be interested. We don't know how far we have gone down the road beyond showing interest. I have not seen anything where he is dismissive of a move to us, just that he would be positive about a move up.
http://www.abendzeitung-nuernberg.d...1185343/Proschwitz-Fuerth-wird-nicht-betteln/ I'm not gonna translate everything for you but in the middle paragraph "Dass mit dem englischen Verein Hull City ein weiterer Bewerber um den 25-jährigen Stürmer in den Ablöse-Poker eingestiegen ist, ficht Hack nicht an: „Proschwitz hat mit Sicherheit keine Lust, in die Zweite Liga zu gehen.“ Auch Lars-Wilhelm Baumgarten, Berater des wechselwilligen Angreifers, betont, „dass Nick in die Bundesliga wechseln will, und Fürth die erste Wahl ist. Ich hoffe, sie werden sich bald einigen.“ After saying that our interest has made things different for Furth and Proschwitz (assuming they mean that the club may be forced to up their price, paderborn may be able to use our interest in their favour and so on...) It's the club's president "Hack" saying that should Proschwitz leave, he knows for a fact that he doesn't not want to go to 2nd division (implying our english 2nd division) But in the same article it says that Hack will stand firm and Furth say that they have other alternatives and options, probably more mind games, to lower the price Paderborn is after... I only don't see us getting him unless we're his only option, that is all.
In my opinion the club shouldn't go after players who make it clear they would rather go somewhere else - no matter how good they are.
But Proschwitz is a player for Paderborn - and Fürth are a side that wants him. Helmut Hack isn't the president of Paderborn; he's the president of Greuther Fürth. The AZ Nürnberg is only the equivalent of the Fail in that area. If Assem Allam had said something in the mail saying that he wanted to play in the Championship it would be equally meaningless. The quote from Baumgarten is a little more damning, but that seems to be very cherry picked - they've seemingly decided only to include the final bit of a longer sentence. I'm guessing because that is more appealing to their readers. Even if what Baumgarten says is true - how often have we said about things being agent talk? Who's offering the agent the better deal? I just find it strange that this has only appeared in the Fürth biased paper, where pro-Fürth stories will be published and no where else. This declaration for Fürth hasn't made the paper in Paderborn as far as I can tell. I'm not saying he's coming here, but given what we know has happened here - We've obviously been focussing on getting goalkeepers in. Mike White has posted that we're now focussing on getting in strikers. We've heard nothing more about Heskey, yet we're still the run-away favourites to sign him. We now need to see what Bruce will do when he focusses on the forwards. The one thing we have seen from the signing of Jakupovic is that when Bruce wants his man, he can get him. I guess we will see in the coming week.
He's not coming though you realise that.... there's nothing in our favour, i mean furth are a **** tiny club compared to us but he'd rather join them than leave germany it seems.
I bet you two would have a right merry Christmas together westhulltiger and Circa, glass half full and all.
You're a cheery soul, aren't you? No, nothing positive at all in a very pro Fürth paper. And Fürth are tiny compared to us? You sound like a Leeds fan. We're not in the top flight. They are, and its the top flight in his home country. They deserve respect on that front. Look at Hoffenheim. They're smaller than us too. Technically. Anyway. I'm not flag waving for one side or the other, but until he signs for a club, or until I read in an English paper that he definitely isn't coming, I'm keeping an open mind.
Well I hadn't either, but that doesn't mean he could come in and be a key player next season. Just because we haven't heard of him doesn't really mean anything. I'd heard of Dele Adebola and we know how that went.
If you two girls don't quit suabling over nothing I'll send John fallen on here to get you squabbling on the same side ...
I am not being negative just because that's me I just don't see why we're holding our hopes on a player who we don't really know. I don't really see him as a "must buy" ... rather than wait for his mind to be made why can't we look at other players. this just feels like a negredo. Just a lot cheaper. The guy wants top flight and he has an offer for it. We ve come in to the equation rather meaninglessly and he must have given us about 20second thought. Maybe he hasn't but I wouldn't long too much on the idea of him coming, I don't really know why you do Bernstein unless you think he's the next best thing in our league.
What an earth are you getting so worked up about? Bruce said he fancied the player, the player is now getting some Bundesliga interest so may well stay there, it's no big deal.
