Strov - was merely funnin' .. but I don't think yu'll find Big Emile seeking 'one last big payout' .... he'd be reasonable ... in his nature ... very unassuming .. as long as you don't take the p***

Fossie, I'm not bothered if we get Heskey or not, to be honest. I just don't want another Bullard situation to arise.

What I do find amusing is some of your fans reaction to this. At the end of last season, and even before, rumours were rife that Ivanhoe would be "Returning Home" and, quite naturally, Foxes were salivating at the prospect, even to the degree of there being a Facebook page dedicated to his return.

Now with the event of rumours circulating that he will be going elsewhere, and particularly those of him coming to us, everyone is saying he is shyte and that they don't want him back because they don't his memory tarnished. Hilarious!

The question is whether Heskey has been approached by Bruce. I think he will have been myself

Couldn't this guy be one Bruce's scouts picked up at his time in Slumberland but thought he might not be good enough for them? Very quick to get thrown about this rumour was so I wouldn't be suprised if this is the case, didn't Sunderland do alot of scouting/recruiting on the continent?

Dont forget Zaki either @ Wigan. Bruce also found Sessegnon & McLean to name but 2 for Slumberland. Bruce is good at finding talent. :1980_boogie_down:

    Indeed. ^^^^ Spot on. <ok>

Are they ? and no he would not anymore. ;)

Calm down. Just because the Foxes have taken a massive hit on the sale of Matt Mills to Bolton ? :emoticon-0116-evilg:1980_boogie_down:

For once you come out with a good post. Well done.

I think both have actually.!!! <magic>

Strov - you won't get the genuine fans slagging him - he came through our ranks from raw teenage talent (was an incredible size for a 17 yearold - but with real burning pace and strength to boot) to become Liverpool's then record signing ...and he didn't disappoint whilst there either..

But the mark of 'the man' is what came after ... as is well known, the abysmal financial management of the club took us to the brink and we went into administration needing to raise £500k to avoid extinction ... now another famous son of Leicester, Gary Lineker, was the figurehead behind the consortium that eventually saved us but, whilst he was happy to provide his services for free (for which we thank him) he didn't actually dip into his own deep pockets (or so I believe) ... but Heskey, on the other hand, donated a six figure sum quietly and without wanting anything for it or any publicity either ... he remembered where it all started from for him and he wasn't about to let his home town club go under if he could help save it..

I have always looked for the results of any team that he has played for and hoped, when not to our detriment, that they do well and that, more importantly he does ... that won't change for me if he ends up at Hull ... now I can only speak for me of course - but suspect I am not alone. I have ultimate respect for him as a human being and as a player - he will always give his all and never stop trying. What's more .. he is a very fine footballer but has attracted very unfair press and criticism way out of proportion IMHO.

Good write up, Fossie. I suspect a lot of your compadres feel the same (apart from the last bit) but are not honest enough to admit it.

Had to laff this morning though! Posted a link on Foxestalk (thread already existing on Cameron Stewart) to the Hull Daily Mail article published today with the thoughts of Cameron Stewart. Guess what? The silly ****s have banned me for it!! :emoticon-0136-giggl

Nice picture of me in a Tiger suit tho!!! :emoticon-0135-makeu

Doesn't surprise me that they've banned you. They can become a tad bitter can those Leicester fans (Not all...), but most ;)

    You're alright Fosse!

His goalscoring record stacks up, his first touch looks good and for once he looks like a clean striker of the ball which we really don't have. The chance to come to England to prove himself in a country with huge media attention etc... would mean his wages won't be huge i doubt. German Bundeliga 2 isn't a bad standard i doubt, Bundesliga itself is competitive if not the best quality so probably same at that level.

It all depends on the price and our budget, if he is cheap its worth a risk but if he costs a lot why take the risk when you can spend on someone more proven. He could flop for all we know, but we just need to trust Bruce.

Figueroa, McClean (James, not Aaron), Sessignon, Cattermole, Campbell, Turner, Larsen.

Also players have improved under him.

He must have a great rapport with players, as a number have followed him around (Melchiot, Heskey, Cattermole etc)

I agree 100% with that. People that don't want Heskey, or don't rate him simply can't understand football. Heskey is an awesome footballer. He was in any strike partnership the aggressor, tormentor and provider - a role that he has performed incredibly well at the very highest level - the championship for him would be a walk in the park.

Anyone doubting Heckey's ability cast your mind back to the Wigan game at the start of our first PL season. Heskey toyed with our defence that day and scored and made goals for others. He might be the butt of some jokes, but whoever ends up with him could be in for a good season with someone who can hold up play and create chances for others like Heskey.

Well this thread has gone massively off topic! I'm not sure Heskey will be coming if Proschwitz comes in. I'd prefer the latter to be honest, he seems more likely to score the goals as well as become a solid target man.

Also, did the OP get his name wrong and then CI copy it, or was it the other way around? ;)

Big difference is Heskey can do it, has doine it, for years, at the top level, and is a 100% man on the pitch, always has been. Proschwitz may (or may not) be able to do it, and who knows at this level. Ideally I'd have both. But if it was either/or then I'd ceratinly go Heskey. Lets just hope one is free and the other is cheap. And that the both want to come here!

Proschwitz might be the replacement for Jay Simpson.

I would say that's an end to that one!

So, I wonder how much Heskey wants a week?

just got to hope Bruce and Allem have a plan B - but if the fee mentioned is correct, proves we have got money to spend on the right player. And anyone know how to pronounce Proschwitrz by the way?
