Anyone heard anything further?

If it’s down to a two horse race, I’d prefer Pearson.

I've put £30 on Pearson - don't mind losing it if we get the German or someone good who hasn't been on the betting favourites radar.
What odds did you get ?

33/1 at betfred according to oddschecker...

Strange one in the betting...Gary Monk 4/1 2nd favourite..

That's from that Weird UNIBET site mate
Have a look at the other names that top their list (think they do it just to be highlighted on Oddschecker)
Jens Keller
Marco Silva
Jurgan Kilinsman
Uwe Rossler

I just check SAFC.COM every half hour or so, it's handy being retired, that will be the first place it's announced I'd imagine.

His mate has wagered £500 on Pearson?

I have various betting accounts. I don't believe I've seen a bookie accept more than £50 on that sort of bet. They're restricted.

Probably had that bet with the guy who knew all about the takeover that wasn't really a takeover but an investment.

Ladbrokes let me stake £29.71 on Stendel being the next manager. I'd have happily shoved a few hundred on if somebody can kindly point me in the right direction :)

I have to confess I had not heard of Phil Parkinson until the past few days...is he any good, is he the son of Michael Parkinson?

You can go in shop and get the staff to ring the traders which is your best bet for a decent punt on that sort of market.

It’s actually linked to odds. They don’t set a limit on these markets, but they do set a maximum liability, it’s done as these kind of markets can be influenced by inside info.

Currently you can bet up to £83 on Stendel on Sky bet, max £50 on Pearson, and basically whatever you like on Parkinson.

I’d be surprised if anyone other than Betfair accepted £500 on Pearson.

Even asking in-store would simply see the odds slashed before you got the bet on, even if they accepted it.

(I used to do some work in this area...)

I called Betfred this morning on the back of the 33/1 on Oddschecker and they don't even have a market for next SAFC Manager.

I’m surprised at that mind. SkyBet are usually streets ahead on odds anyway, but they do have massive fluctuation due to whispers. For all that ‘Sky sources’ can be the internet, 80% of the time it isn’t. They do have contacts, and relationships with the clubs.

Aye I was gutted, had the old credit card at the ready <laugh>

Got 6's with Paddy Power and took it.

SSN are a bit of a joke, I still love the fact they compare players based on their Football Manager stats for that edition <laugh><laugh>

You do know though, that the stats for FM & Fifa are taken from statistics used by all major clubs and using the same database as scouts, coaches and managers.

The stats, at least on the physical side, are the most accurate you will see anywhere, every touch is analysed.

I had a bet on Stendel a few days ago he was 25/1 with William Hill, I don't think there were any restrictions on the wager. You also get £40 worth of free bets...4 x £10 free bets, you could try them....
