He will get to stay if he keeps us up, for sure. And I actually think that's fair on him. I'm not really a fan of Hughes - never have warmed to him - but I think he can get us over the line for this season. What happens beyond that? Not a clue. But he'll have my support through to the end of the final game, and then we will just have to see what has happened.
Appointing Hughes is less of a risk than Potter for example, but he is not the the man to get us back into the EL in a few years IMO, the football will probably be a slightly more entertaining than recently though.
Think we'll have more of a chance staying up under Hughes than Pellegrino. Hughes never got some important players at Stoke to go with the system he was trying to play with wing backs etc. For a start we beat him to the signings of Cedric and Lemina.
Can someone who knows please tell me how Hughes's teams play? Attacking or defensive? Pressing or sideways passing? I've read a mixture of views and only seen a couple who say he has a boring style?
