Of course you can rely on me, to repudiate your points of view with regard to LJ, I think he was a total failure, he promised Premier league football, he promised European competition in 5 years, he promised a successful team after 3 transfer windows, he flopped, apart from flipped, no promotions, no honours, his record followed the same pattern as with Oldham & Barnsley, broken promises and streaky runs, 5 overall places in 4.5 years, culminating in the sack, nothing invalid about that.

We have opposite opinions, we are bound to argue, no harm in that.
But still being the most successful manager we've had in 40 years!! :emoticon-0105-wink:

What does Fergie mean?
Strength Of Man
The name Fergie means Strength Of Man and is of English origin. Fergie is name that's been used by parents who are considering unisex or non-gendered baby names--baby names that can be used for any gender. Nickname for people with the surname Ferguson

Did Pat Lamb win the Rugby cup with the same players that other coaches had struggled with?
Genuine question - I don't follow Rugby.

If not, then changing the manager would be only the beginning of the reform.
How much is a Rugby forward, prop or winger, compared to a football striker, midfielder or defender in terms of both purchase price and wages? Is there a Rugby equivalent of the Bosman rule and FIFA Fair Play?

Pat LAM, has gradually from 2017 built up the team he has at his disposal now, him and his coaching staff have also brought in players down in the pecking order at their clubs and coached them to be important members of his squad, him and his coaches have also brought through incredible young talent from their academy.

But most importantly he and his coaches have instilled into his squad an ethos that the whole squad fully embrace, an ethos that him and the players constantly repeat in interviews "trust the process".

There are transfer fees but not the astronomic fees as in football, most transfers are conducted at the end of contracts (or close to the end) for instance Bristol have already signed players for next season.

And yes there is an equivalent to FFP, something that Saracens were relegated for having breached it on an industrial scale (a bit like Aston Villa, but were actually punished).

The players love him, the fans love him, the media loves him and he and his coaches are excellent at their jobs, that sort of helps.

Who cares, they’re both former managers now and nothing to do with BCFC anymore. You need to move on RP and Wiz...

Again come on, within the past several days you have mentioned LJ bashing.

Very misleading, he kept us in the championship for 4 seasons and got us to a semi final of the countries 3rd most important trophy.

His dad won a promotion, got us to a play off final for the premiership and kept us comfortably mid table for another 2 seasons in the championship (until his sacking) even Millen kept us up for another season.

His dad has actual achievements.

Yeah but we know and I'm sure it will be recorded at the BCFC record dept!! If there is one!! :emoticon-0105-wink:

Dream on, it took them 4 days to acknowledge the death of an ex player last month. The rugby club by comparison published the death of club legend, former England and British Lion captain John Pullin before the press even got hold of it.

But you keep that torch burning.

Onefor and Jiffie; You're both right on this one :emoticon-0148-yes::
- LJ managed us in our longest Championship uninterrupted stretch since Alan Dicks - 1for is correct
- You won't find it acknowledged - or mentioned anywhere by BCFC - but that's not really shocking to be fair, as no trophies or promotions were won. Jiffie is correct
(LJ IS celebrated for that win over Man Utd and valiant display versus Man City BTW).

Not acknowledging the death of a former player, or the departure of the club captain most definitely IS shocking however, and to be honest unforgivable.

I might have to write to Wiki and get them to put those 4 championship seasons in....it would save me having to remind you, Wiz & RP of his achievements, I can just link it to you every time it's brought up <laugh><laugh><laugh>
