The only people saying we don't have the money or we cannot afford XYZ are people on this forum or journos. I have seen nothing from the club saying we have no money. Those are the same people saying we are interested in Benteke at 30m

We have just spent 8m on a centre back.

I am sure money is available if the players are. Our biggest issue is attacting quality players, the simple fact is they don't want to come here.

Holy crap that strike force over performed.

Didn't Jelavic have a couple of good seasons before injuries took their toll?

I've always liked Naismith and wish we'd gotten him instead of Norwich. Having said that, he didn't exactly pull up any trees there.

They only got one season out of him before the injuries started didn't they? That blokes been plagued most of his career. Poor lad

Liverpool have recieved no offers yet for Benteke. Some turk club maybe interested at 21m or a loan.

Ha'way big dave, gan and knock on shorts door.

Said weeks ago that'd be a good signing for you lot. If he's properly fit now he could be perfect for you.

Sturridge is injured again and Benteke is on his way out apparently so not sure Klopp will be happy to sell, he'll still have Origi and Mane.

Turns out we don't even need a new CF. <laugh><doh>

COULD JACK RODWELL BE A STRIKING OPTION FOR SUNDERLAND?
Last week I wrote about my proposal to save SAFC money by using Seb Larsson at right back; Unfortunately, an injury prevented him from playing against Dortmund. Maybe he will appear in that position against Manchester City this weekend with Sunderland’s pursuit of a full-back ongoing.

This week I would like to talk about one of our great enigmas, Jack Rodwell. I believe that we don’t need to lay out even more money on a new centre-forward, and I’m sure Ellis Short would prefer that option too.

I read this morning that Jack would like to re-invent his career as a centre back. I feel that part of his ongoing injury problems stems from his being too much in the thick of things in the middle of the field. He is certainly big and strong, but maybe these attributes could be better channeled up front playing just off Jermaine Defoe. He is certainly a fine header of the ball (not that I am suggesting that he and Jermain will resurrect the halcyon days of Niall Quinn and Kevin Phillips) but certainly he would provide strength up front, and with nine goals to his name in red and white, Rodwell offers a goal threat.

David Moyes unquestionably helped Jack Rodwell find himself at Everton as a young player,so maybe the time has now come for him to open up a new chapter in his career, and as I said last week, why not use our own talent before risking untold millions on other teams rejects.
