I hope every lad in our academy is seated in front of a TV showing AJs life going to the toilet. Other words wouldn't be needed, what a complete idiot.

Taking away the obvious, valuable a player as he was, even on that level he could have been so much better. He literally ****ed it in every conceivable way.

Not bothered about him
But we were ****ed up the Arse and one of our marquee signing down the drain

On Bony/Benteke and their relative wages.

We have sent many a player out on loan and have subsidised their wages.

Why not say we'll pay say £80k per week if they stump up the rest?

It is stupid, it's about time there was a wage cap or quota or something

If we wanted to take the route of more on fee but less on wages I'd still go for Islam Slimani all day long. Made for this league and he won't cost Bony wages.

HOTSHOT Islam Slimani has handed in a transfer request after club Sporting Lisbon received a £16.75 million offer from an unknown English club.

Everton and Southampton have been interested in the Algerian hitman who slammed in 31 goals last term.

The 28-year-old only signed a new contract in Portugal last summer – on the understanding he would be allowed to leave should the club receive a suitable offer.

Now Slimani has asked to leave after believing that his valuation has been met

And he turned down the offer of a new contract this week, refusing to even attend a meeting.

Slimani has also attracted interest from Italy while Sporting turned down a £12.5 million bid from Chinese moneybags Jiangsu Suning in January.

One concern about some is the Africn cup. Cant afford to lose to many in Jan.

AJ was an enigma well before his problems surfaced, a few good games interspersed with long expensive intervals of looking like a waste of space.

I reckon we'll sign Keane from Man Utd and concentrate on the other positions.

Banking on Defoe not getting injured.

Just a hunch.

Bony would be a cracking buy and if he is available for 13m we should be in like a shot.

Other options could be Ings or Remy

Keane is a no no for me, no better than options already at the club, RVP could be a short term option.or Crouch for this season.

If that's Bony, then Man City will just surely point at the 13m transfer fee and tell us they've already made allowances, for that.

I'd love to see Bony here, I was shouting about him at Arnhem long before Swansea swooped in for him, so to see him playing for us, would really excite me. It's a deal that I would love to see happen. He'd get us at least 15 goals a season, I'm sure about that.

Kone shouldn't be sold, we shouldn't need to sell to buy.

We lost £28 million or so last year? Well the wage bill is slashed, and the new TV deal is worth supposedly £70 million extra or so, we should be home free from here, and able to buy.

Yeah mate, that's the frustrating part of all this to me. We are in a very good financial position, we've offloaded a lot of deadwood/wages and we have a guaranteed income from TV of £100m plus whatever the club earns from gates, merchandise, etc, etc. And here we are a week away from the season starting and the club are still saying we can't afford to go for the so called bigger named players. FFS!!! why not?

Totally agree, but then we should be negotiating after the transfer fee as well IMO.

It's clear they want him out. Are they better paying him £130k per week sitting in the stands doing nothing or are they better getting £13m and subsidising £30k per week letting him go.

I think he'll have better options than us in any case but it's the exact calibre of player we should be trying for.

Paying off debt.

This is on transfer thread and in a few papers, would be criminal if we didn't go for the lad.

He's opposite to Defoe, he's strong, he's athletic, he's proven and he would change the whole dimension of our attacking options.

Given that Moyes signed Lukaku, I'm sure we must, must get involved in the fight for this lad.

Moyes signed Lukaku?
