What do you actually mean by this?

To make it simple for you, Dennis; stick with truths and facts, because using innuendo and gossip simply puts the user of that on their level.

My take on this is open, so let's see where this £70m price is based.

These owners are liars, so let's combat them with truth. Show me the truth...

The £70m was what OLM had heard in recent weeks
Far too big a number for me (let’s ignore whether it’s right or not though...none of us knows)
If Sunderland was £40m then it means that, in comparison, we are overpriced

Although he doesn’t want to sell so I suppose it’s irrelevant

You seem to ask , answer and then ask your own question?

If it's irrelevant then why do you constantly discuss it?

Constantly discuss what!!
You asked when the £70m had been quoted and commented that Sunderland had ‘won the Lotto’
I answered to tell you when the £70m had been quoted, helpfully said who it had been quoted by too, and added to your comment about the price of Sunderland.

Quite like what normal people refer to as a conversation

Admittedly I commented that the price was irrelevant if they don’t want to sell. That wasn’t specifically referring to your earlier question or comments. Apologies for that, but things like that sometimes happen in the course of ‘conversations’ too

PS. I had never discussed the £70m figure, ever, before you asked about it.

I am a simple soul
If you had meant that it might have been helpful to simple people like me if you’d actually said something, at least vaguely, like that
You seemed to me to be saying (going by the old fashioned method of reading your words) that you thought people were deliberately overlooking the parachute money and the value in the squad, which is markedly different from what you thought you meant. Being helpful I’ve quoted what you actually said below.
Parachute payments are known, and squad value is subjective, which is why I asked what you meant by suggesting that people were deliberately ignoring the parachute payments (which have been extensively discussed) and the squad value (which is often discussed) to discredit the owners. Probably good job I did ask what you meant, if you were actually meaning to say people shouldn’t quote a sale price unless they have proof of it. I now note your view, although as I’ve never quoted a sale price before it’s irrelevant to me.

Fez “When a price for the club was being floated around these threads the club had a decent tranche of parachute monies to come and value in the squad. Is this being deliberately overlooked to discredit the owners? If it is - and it seems that way - then it does the case against their ownership no good at all.”

something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it, its obvious the sale price is too high or it would have gone. If something doesn't go for the asking price then the seller can put the price down or not sell, they are obviously still getting a good return on their investment so are in no rush, I would think all of the meals, fuel, hotels, car rentals, anything will be going through city's books to keep the debt up and therefore the price unrealistic. Wasn't Pearson on the radio a few months back saying if someone is going to buy it the owners need to actually want to sell. Unfortunately its not really for sale yet, we are lumbered with these parasites.

That's enough now, the sale price is irrelevant, there's no need to discuss it any longer.
