Our new manager is being unveiled at a press conference tomorrow, by Tan and Acum, who will also outline his vision for the club.

Apparently, there's loads of chairs lined up on the pitch, so they must be expecting a big turn-out.

Think the chairs thing was a joke from Baz Cooper, he mentioned in a subsequent tweet that he was joking.

What are posters thoughts on a professional basketball team becoming linked with Hull City.
I have had this in mind for over ten years as I (if posters recall) believe in the sports club model as the way forward.
I do have a problem though with the name…

Would there be an issue if a pro basketball club was called; Hull City, Hull City Tigers or Hull Tigers?

We will soon have a viable venue and it is obvious that Acun loves basketball.

This is just a question for debate, I personally believe and have believed for years that a football club should not just limit itself to one sport. It makes very little business sense to have resources that are restricted to one sport or club.

For a basketball team Hull Tigers makes complete sense to me.

I think the name Hull Tigers is perfectly ok for a basketball team and it doesn't damage or compromise (imo) the name Hull City. What is the viable venue you mention?

The Kingston Panthers basketball team was one of the teams the Allams threw out of the Arena.

Personally, I don't know why Acun would be interested in such a minority sport in the UK, even the twelve top flight clubs only have average attendances of about 2,000. He could probably buy a rugby league club that already play in the same stadium for a quid.

He'd be better off sorting a tie-up with Hull City Ladies first.

I would hope that he gives serious consideration to bringing the Ladies team into the fold, for me it makes perfect sense. Acun is a passionate basketball fan, I don't think that we will see it happen next week, but I am sure that it would cross his mind at some point.
Its just a thought.
