Of course these are idealised clips to illustrate a tactic when it works perfectly.

I think it will be interesting to see if the players respond differently when the stone is at the wheel and it's not necessarily working like 99% of the time.

I honestly don't see it as root and branch different to Rosenior's ideal if I'm honest.

Except almost none of those clips resulted in a goal <laugh>

TWT

I'll be really disappointed if its TW. With a footballer signing there will always be the chance to bench him etc, with a manager he's essentially the first name on the team sheet and having looked properly this fella doesnt seem to have the CV. I thought Acun showed real balls knowing he was going to get pelters, after this I think the flak might get even worse. Then again he might a Wagner...

Hull City take big step closer to Tim Walter manager appointment
The Tigers are expecting to make a formal announcement on their new boss

Hull City took another big step towards appointing Tim Walter as their new head coach after further discussions over the weekend saw his appointment move closer.

Walter, who met owner Acun Ilicali in Germany last week following the departure of Liam Rosenior on Tuesday, was with the Turkish businessman on Saturday in Monaco as the pair thrashed out their plans for the summer having already held extensive discussions with vice-chairman Tan Kesler.

The 49-year-old German boss, who managed at Bayern Munich’s famed academy before taking on the top jobs at Stuttgart and Hamburg, has been out of work since leaving HSV in February, but has been keen to work in England and is thought to be excited by the opportunity to cut his teeth on British shores with City, who finished seventh in the Championship this season, missing out on the play-offs by three points.

City are hoping to make a formal announcement this week with Walter eager to get to work and start to put into place his place for the summer, which will need to move quickly.

Can tell how few people watch the 2.Bundesliga (which is understandable, why would most people over here watch it unless they follow a side in it, like I do). It is not far off of the Championship level wise, it could be equal or better, but hard to truly say.

It's brilliant to watch and arguably, like here in England, much more enjoyable than the top flight.

While I am thoroughly pissed off at Liam's sacking, I am very much behind Walter's appointment, though I would've liked someone with experience in this league.

Acun: So as we sit here on this yacht trashing out the final negotiations, is it really you Tim? Tell me, wouldn't you agree that three of the most glamourous spots in Europe are Munich, Monaco &....Hull?
Tim: I happen to know that only two of those would be considered glamourous.
Acun: You're absolutely right, Monaco is a complete dump. The job is yours Tim.
