For what it's worth I think it's a good appointment. Rosie knows the club, he knows the fans and he has a genuine link to our city. He's a former player, he captained us a few times too. He's going to care if we lose.
I think people are reading too much into "experience". Everybody has to start somewhere, there's no reason why his journey shouldn't start with a club he made the most appearances with in his entire career. He's been around football a long time, he's worked under some experienced heads and will have some decent connections in the game.
It's a good strategy in terms of fan morale, because I can't see too many City fans chanting "Rosie, sort it out" when times get tough, he's the kind of guy you want to do well.
To cap it all, he's humble, he puts the team first and I think he'll garner a lot of respect from the players, especially the home grown ones.
Good choice for me, really want this to work out for both us and him.
