I've got a mate who supports Luton. He really rates Jones. I think I'd rather have Paul Cook though.
One of those left field appointments might be the answer, who knows.

I have to agree, it’s one thing doing well in league 2 with the promotion favourites and biggest budget, it’s a different world straightening out the **** here.
As I’ve said I’m not against a young up and comer but from that far down is a bit of a concern.
If it's a young coach then Paul Heckingbottom would be at the top of my list. Atleast he's managing at the level we are at and he' a known quantity
I agree Heckingbottom should be giving serious consideration.
Would anybody consider Lee Clark? He got off to a very decent start as a manager but fizzled out. He's shown a lot of potential though, he knows this area and club really well, and what is required to make us tick.
Can you really see that one getting off the ground mate?
I think he is up there with McMenemy, Shearer and Barton in the general consensus of Sunderland fans
He does mate. He wore a really nice t-shirt once in support. Clark is a definate no from me. Ireland to get beat in world cup knock out and Keane rejoins us.
Yeah I could go with that, at least he has Championship experience.
With the lad at Wigan he’s worked at Portsmouth and took them up, a club that had been in a real state so I see that. Half a season at Luton is a no for me.
Heckingbottom has had them punching for a couple years now and he seems like he could step up.
Keane is sneaking into the ‘possible’ area. He was asked about it, all he said was ‘concentrating on play off and enjoying my role’.
That is not a Keane ‘no’ is it? He’d not have held back on saying he wouldn’t work for Short etc. Still unlikely but I’d say there’s more chance having heard that.
My mate is a black and white fanatic. He's missed 4 league games in 20 years and loves any chance he gets to have a go at Sunderland. He admitted to me when having a drink that Clark didn't know what was on the T-shirt and never had a choice either, it was forced on him. He was there. I've never had an issue with Clark. He gave his all for us while he was here and done a bloody good job.
He was a good player for us, but he’s been a **** manager and whether he knew or not that incident will be held against him immediately.
It’s an absolute non starter.
I agree it's a non starter, I was just getting people's opinions. I'd take him like, he done a very good job at Huddersfield. There's potential there.
He had a cracking two seasons with us mate. Just don't see anything to make me think he is a good manager.
