Agreed in his second season - but, on the other hand, the most memorable season for me was under Poyet (mostly) when we got to the cup final! I'm not advocating him coming back b tw, far from it as I don't want him back - but that cup final season was amazing
The Barnsley bit is irrelevant - if he wants the job and Barnsley say no it'll be a case of agreeing a compensation fee with them and nothing more - IF he wants it and we want him we'll get him. Otherwise - as you (and Gelders) says, Shambles!

Unless the next manager was employed or played for the Northern Ireland FA or the Irish FA then Bain has completely wasted 2 weeks. Our club is in total and utter crisis, in freefall and we fart around for weeks trying to appoint a manager. They may as well kept Grayson until they had a successor lined up, but this is Sunderland, don't do anything in a normal sensible way. I've supported this club now for 54 years...never in that time have I seen a more amateur attitude, its embarrassing.

I know it's frustrating waiting around but it's very important that we get it right or we'll be relegated again, I don't believe for a minute that Bain is sitting around doing nowt and hoping someone good gets in touch.
That's probably true and we're desperately trying to work out who's the least ****e while leaving begging messages on Allardyce's and Pearson's answering machines.
I said similar on another thread too - there is no way that anyone on here knows exactly what's been happening - just because it's not being reported that we're interviewing x y or z or looking at applications of x y and z we are doing nothing! We may be doing nothing - but there is no way that anyone on here knows that
