Allen 47.4% win ratio (2 caretaker roles, and sacked after 4 games at Leicester after a row with Milan Mandaric)
Tilson 38.14%
Dyche 34.69%

Depends on what criteria you are looking for... both Allen and Tilson have greater experience, in terms of number of season, both have a greater win ratio, Tilson has managed at the same level as Dyche too (not sure about Allen but I don't think he managed in the Championship)...

The point I am trying to make is you can make cases for and against for all the candidates and they will all be valid... but for me I would prefer a manager who has at least 3 seasons in at a league club and has taken a club to a minimum of the playoffs, simply because I feel that those criteria would prove that he has had the ability to cope with the pressure towards the end of the season, which I feel is where Hess fell down

don't think your taking in to account that dyche was managing a weak watford side in a very strong championship division and in his first season !

i see your point BSG it's a hard one to call and i wouldn't want the chairman's job...though i might of decided by now and signed ten or so players along the way <laugh>

i won't say lets wait and see, because we've waited long enough if you ask all concerned !!!
 
Very true, Oxon I wouldn't want the chairman's job either, I doubt there is one manager who he could select that would make everyone happy!

Just incidently what are your set of criteria for a manager, you have been vocial on who you don't want but apart from Clark you haven't really been pro anyone

think thats more down to whats available(left), because thats all i feel it is, and whats not...no one stands out of the guys available other than maybe peter taylor and what he achived with gillingham of past...as i say hard to call and wouldn't want to be the chairman right now !


and regards your comment above, it's not so much a manager that would keep all happy, more that will get most things right, where so many others have failed at gillingham !
 
I bet it will be Thursday. Players will be back and the new man (or woman) will be introduced to them in the afternoon. There's usually a press conference on Thursday morning and thats when I reckon it will be.

Thursday has been my thoughts for the last week or so. I know the players come back for training on Friday, so that would fit in just about right.
 
Whoever it is, unless it's been someone under contract, why has there been such a delay? Thats why I can't believe it will be Tilson or Allen, because they've been available for ages.
 
Sean Dyche looks like the best of whats left in terms of candidates, not hard to be honest seeing as his only competition was Allen and Tilson!
 
Its interesting to see adams but as we know with sky bet its probably just been caused by one guy putting a quid on him somewhere causing sky to react.
 
It is all over, It is Martin Allen I am happy, at least it is not Tilson, but what will it be like with Hess and him.
 
Worst decision I've seen by Mr. Scally, Allen will be out the door within the season for another job. Any other name mentioned would of been better in my opinion.
