These threads are starting to get split all other the place but to my point...If people really believe that Tilson is our next manager, do you think he would have allowed Tomlin to go to Southend?

Why - Is there snow forecast for the middle of the week...... Sorry folks, the wait is really getting to me - because with the news about Tomlin it is obvious ( despite what Scally might say ) that the absence of a manager is going to be / becoming a factor in the decision of available players to consider signing for Gillingham - that's assuming that the player would know that Gillingham might want them.

edit - the wait is only getting to me - not so much because we haven't got a manager, but because of the likelyhood that we will miss out on other players.
edit edit - what has Hess been doing ? to allow the loss of signing up Tomlin. I thought Hess was supposed to be 'scouting' - and surely Scally could have made a decision about offering Tomlin a deal in lieu of a manager !!!

Yeah I posted about it the other day and also brb, I think it is strange but then it could just be because he wants to move on, don't mean he is our manager, I thought I heard that he had not been interviewed, if he was and he has got it then I think that would be good.

Surely any "new" signings have to be the choice of the new manager and not Hess? Let's just say, for the sake of argument, Hess had offered a deal to Tomlin (and let's be honest there were many, many people critising Hess for signing him on loan in the first place), and Tomlin accepted then the new guy comes in and decides that Tomlin isn't a player that he wants? Unfortunately we have to play the waiting game a little longer. In a few days all the frustration will have passed and we can then talk about possible players. Let's not forget that there are still a great number of players available who can more than do a job at league 2 level and above.

Keep calm. It's not the end of the world.

god knows when we could appoint this new manager, on gillsconnect they say the court verdict could take another 8 weeks to come to a conclusion and the resulting outcome....8 WEEKS !!! <yikes>

i remember reading or hearing that hess had been tasked with contacting potential players and looking at the players pushed towards the club by agents and compling a list of posibilities for the new manager. certainly nothing about signing them, especially as this would send out the wrong message tyo any potential new manager straight away that his budget is being cut into witout his say so already!!

8 weeks could fit in with the Hope Powell scenario. Lol.

But seriously if it's that long then this season will have been lost already.

The only managerial saga that I have ever found more puzzling was Wolves last year. But at least Scally has kept the names of possible candidates secret so if they have turned us down, for what ever reason, he's saved himself some embarrassment. But that will all blow up in his face should Tilson or Allen be appointed and he comes out with the ever fabulous line of "xxxxxx was our number 1 choice"

Martin Allen now 1/6 on Skybet. I appreciate that Skybet odds change like the wind but 1/6 is the heaviest favourite quoted to date by some distance

I don't think Dyche has had enough experience to warrant the job, he did ok at Watford but with a win ratio of 34%...
